JVC's free street parking ended on 16 March 2026. Parkonic now charges AED 4 an hour from 08:00 to 17:00 and AED 6 from 17:00 to midnight, every day including weekends, which changes the first question anyone should ask before they rent a car in JVC. Not which car. Where it waits. If your tower gives you a covered bay, none of this costs you anything and the car is simply delivered into it. If it doesn't, the arithmetic is worth doing before you book. Either way we bring the car to your building.
What the March change actually costs you
The on-street system is ticketless. Cameras log the plate, and the charge goes to the vehicle's Salik account unless an SMS session is started first. The bands are AED 4 an hour from 08:00 to 17:00, AED 6 an hour from 17:00 to midnight, and free from midnight to 08:00. Unlike the Parkin zones elsewhere in Dubai, it runs daily, so Sunday isn't a free day here.
Park on the street from six in the evening until midnight and that's AED 36 for one night. Do it every night for a month and you're past AED 1,000, which is why Parkonic sells a monthly membership at AED 900, or AED 500 for an electric vehicle, with quarterly options as well. If you're renting for several weeks and your building has nothing for you, that subscription is usually the cheaper answer, and it's worth pricing before the first charge lands.
Where the car waits
Most JVC towers include covered resident parking, and if your unit comes with a bay that's where the car goes. We deliver to the building, put it in your space or hand it over at the entrance, and no counter or depot enters the process.
If your building doesn't give you a bay, say so when you book. Evening is the pinch point, because residents come home between six and eight and that's exactly when the paid rate steps up. We'll set a handover time and place that avoids the crush. Circle Mall parking is the reliable free fallback if you'd rather meet the car somewhere central in the community.
Getting out of JVC without paying a toll
There's no Salik gate inside JVC, and none between here and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. Running to Circle Mall, the schools, Jumeirah Village Triangle, or across to Dubai Marina and JLT on E311 costs you nothing in tolls, which is a genuine advantage of this side of the city.
Head east or north and the gates start. Downtown and the coast route pick up Al Safa on Sheikh Zayed Road or Business Bay Crossing on Al Khail. Since 1 June 2026 a crossing is AED 6.30 at peak, meaning 06:00 to 10:00 and 16:00 to 20:00, AED 4.20 off-peak, and AED 4.20 flat on Sundays, with nothing charged from 01:00 to 06:00. Remember that where you're going is usually a paid parking zone too, so a Downtown trip costs you twice: once at the gate, once at the bay.
The car that fits these roads
JVC runs on narrow internal streets and a lot of roundabouts, and the building bays are sized for ordinary cars. An economy car or a small sedan is the sensible default, and it's far easier to place in a tight covered bay at the end of a long day.
Go bigger when the trip justifies it. A family arriving with luggage, or a weekend planned toward Hatta or Abu Dhabi, is a fair case for a mid-size SUV. For the school run, Circle Mall and the commute out to E311, the smaller car is cheaper to fuel and less trouble to park.
No deposit, which suits how people rent here
