Meena Bazaar, the souk area, and the streets around Bank Street sit in an RTA paid zone, and finding an open meter spot at midday is its own small battle. What Salik and parking really cost from here

Bur Dubai itself is light on tolls, which is a real advantage of basing here. You won't hit a Salik gate on short hops within the area or across to Deira over the Creek bridges. The charges start when you head out on the main roads. Drive toward Downtown, the Marina, or DXB along Sheikh Zayed Road and you pass the Al Safa and Al Safa South gates. Cut across on Al Khail Road and you meet the Business Bay Crossing gate instead.

Each gate is AED 6 during peak hours, 06:00 to 10:00 and 16:00 to 20:00, and AED 4 off-peak, with no charge between 01:00 and 06:00. Sundays and public holidays are a flat AED 4 all day. Linked gates within the same hour count as a single charge, so a quick out-and-back on Sheikh Zayed Road usually isn't double money. Salik is billed automatically as you pass and passed on to you at the real amount, never marked up.

On parking, budget for the paid zone if you'll leave the car on the street. Rates run higher in this Category 1 area, so the practical move is to use your hotel's parking or a mall garage and keep street parking for short stops only.
