Nissan rental in Dubai
Starting from 75 AED/day | 95 cars | All 7 Emirates Covered | Doorstep Delivery in 1–2 Hours

Most people who ask us for a Nissan rental in Dubai are really asking one question: do they need the Patrol, or will a smaller car do? We deliver across the city free of charge, so the choice comes down to where you're driving, not what's parked closest. If your week is malls, Marina, Sheikh Zayed Road and the airport run, a Sunny or X-Trail handles all of it and slips into tighter parking. The Patrol earns its keep the day you point it at the dunes or load up for Hatta. We rent the full range, and below is how we'd steer you.
The Patrol, and when it's actually worth it
The Patrol is the reason Nissan is everywhere on Dubai roads. It's a body-on-frame 4WD with the ground clearance and low-range gearing that soft sand needs, and it's what we'd hand you for a dune weekend at Al Qudra or a wadi run past Hatta. Seven seats, a boot that swallows a family's luggage with the third row up, and an engine that doesn't wilt when the AC fights a 45-degree afternoon.
Here's the honest part. If you never leave tarmac, the Patrol is more car than your trip needs. It's thirsty, it's big in a multi-storey, and on a pure Sheikh Zayed Road commute you're paying for capability you won't touch. Rent it for what it's built for. For a school run plus a desert night, it's the right call. For airport-to-hotel-to-mall, you're sizing up for no reason.
One scheduling note from the desk: the Patrol books out on long weekends and over Eid, sometimes a week ahead. If your dates are fixed around a public holiday, reserve early rather than assuming one's free.
The city range, where most renters land
For everyday Dubai, the smaller economy Nissans do more than people expect. The Sunny is the cheap, sensible runabout: easy to park at Dubai Mall, fine on Salik-gated roads, and enough boot for a couple of suitcases. We hand it over more than anything else in the range because it covers the common trip, which is errands, the office and the occasional Abu Dhabi drive.
Step up and the Altima and Maxima are the comfortable sedans for longer highway stints, with the cabin space and quieter ride you want on the E11 to Abu Dhabi. The Kicks is the compact crossover for someone who wants a higher seat and a small footprint without the bulk of a full SUV. None of these will touch soft sand, and we won't pretend otherwise, but they're the right answer for the vast majority of rentals that stay on paved roads.
The middle ground: X-Trail and Pathfinder
Plenty of families don't need a Patrol but do want space and a bit of rough-road ability. That's where the X-Trail and Pathfinder sit. The X-Trail is a five-seat (seven in some trims) crossover that's happy on graded desert tracks, mountain roads to Hatta, and the daily school run, without the Patrol's size or fuel habit. Two adults, two kids and a week's luggage fit comfortably.
The Pathfinder gives you three usable rows and a bigger boot for larger groups who still spend most of their time on tarmac. If your idea of off-road is a packed dirt access road to a campsite rather than crawling up a dune, either of these is the smarter pick than the Patrol. Save the full 4WD for genuine sand.
Delivery, Salik and what's covered
We bring the car to you anywhere in Dubai and collect it when you're done, including DXB and DWC arrivals, so you can skip the airport rental counter. Every rental includes insurance and a Salik tag, so the toll gates on Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail just charge through without you arranging anything. Mileage is unlimited, which matters if your week includes Abu Dhabi or the Hatta loop rather than just city hops.
Tourists drive on a passport, a home licence and an International Driving Permit. Residents need a UAE licence. We sort the handover and the paperwork at delivery, walk you through the controls, and note any existing marks together before you sign.
FAQ — Common Questions Answered.
Which Nissan should I rent for desert driving in Dubai?
Rent the Patrol for soft sand and dune driving, since its ground clearance, low-range gearing and 4WD are what actually get you through. For graded desert tracks or mountain roads to Hatta, the X-Trail or Pathfinder is enough and easier to live with day to day. A Sunny, Altima or Kicks should stay on tarmac, as they aren't built for off-road and you risk getting stuck. Tell us your route and we'll match the car to it.
Is the Nissan Patrol usually available, or does it book out?
The Patrol is our most requested 4WD, and it does book out on long weekends, public holidays and over Eid. If your dates are flexible you'll usually find one, but for fixed plans around a holiday you should reserve a week or so ahead. Midweek and off-peak, availability is rarely a problem. Message us with your dates and we'll confirm what's free before you commit.
How do Salik tolls and traffic fines work on a Nissan rental?
Every car comes with a Salik tag fitted, so toll gates charge automatically as you pass and you don't set anything up. Tolls used during your rental are reconciled to your booking afterward. Traffic and speed fines registered against the car during your hire are your responsibility, so drive to the posted limits, which are camera-enforced across Dubai. We'll let you know if any fine comes through after you return the car.
Can I take a rented Nissan to Abu Dhabi or other emirates?
Yes, you can drive anywhere within the UAE, and mileage is unlimited, so the E11 run to Abu Dhabi or a weekend in Ras Al Khaimah costs you nothing extra in distance. The Salik tag and insurance stay valid across the emirates. Cross-border travel into Oman is a separate matter and needs prior arrangement plus extra insurance, so ask us first if that's your plan. For everything inside the country, just go.
What do I need to rent a Nissan if I'm visiting Dubai?
You need your passport, your home-country driving licence and an International Driving Permit if your licence isn't in English or Arabic. Visitors can drive on those documents for the length of a tourist stay. UAE residents rent on a local licence instead. We handle the rest at delivery, including insurance and the Salik tag, so the only thing you bring is your documents and your destination.
