1. What This Privacy Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how TWENTY FOUR BABA PORTAL L.L.C (“24baba”, “Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data of users (“User”, “you”) when using our electronic platform that connects users with car rental providers and private car owners (“Partners”) through the 24baba mobile application and website (together, the “Platform”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data transparently and lawfully in accordance with Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (UAE PDPL).

2. Who Is Responsible for Processing Your Data

Partners (Car Rental Companies and Private Owners): When you book a car through the Platform, your personal data will also be processed by the Partner who provides the car rental service. Each Partner acts as a separate data controller for the purpose of fulfilling the rental contract with you.

3. What Data We Collect and Why

We collect personal data directly from you and through your interaction with the Platform. The categories of personal data, purpose of use, and lawful basis include:

  • Personal information (name, phone, email, driver's license, passport/ID) – used for registration, verification, and communication.
  • Technical data (device ID, IP address, usage statistics) – used to enhance security and performance.
  • Optional data (location, marketing preferences) – used to personalize offers, with your consent.
  • Payment and booking data shared with Partners – to complete car rental agreements.

4. How We Use and Share Your Personal Data

Your data is used to register users, process bookings, handle payments, improve services, and comply with legal obligations.

We share data only with:

  • Partners (car rental providers)
  • Payment processors
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers
  • Customer support and marketing partners
  • Legal or regulatory authorities when required by law.

We do not sell personal data to any third party.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes stated in this Policy or as required by law.

Typical retention periods:

  • Account and booking info – up to 5 years after last activity
  • Payment data – as required by UAE tax laws
  • Marketing data – until consent is withdrawn.

Users may request deletion of their account subject to legal retention requirements.

6. Privacy Policy — Recording Permission (Microphone Access)

1. What Permission We Request

The App may request the following permission: RECORD_AUDIO (Microphone Access). This permission allows the App to access the device microphone for the purposes described below.

We do not activate the microphone or begin recording without your consent or clear in-app action.

2. How We Use Microphone / Audio Data

We use microphone access strictly for the following purposes:

  • To enable voice features (e.g., voice notes, voice commands, in-app recording tools)
  • To capture audio when you intentionally start a recording
  • To support communication features such as calls, meetings, or messages (if applicable)

We do not use microphone data for:

  • Background listening
  • Monitoring conversations
  • Advertising or marketing profiling
  • Any purpose unrelated to the feature you are actively using

3. Do We Store Audio Recordings?

Depending on how you use the App:

  • Stored locally on your device: Recordings may be saved on your device and remain under your control.
  • Stored on our servers (if enabled): Recordings may be uploaded only when required to provide the service and only after you initiate the action.

If storage occurs on our servers, we:

  • Retain recordings only as long as necessary to provide the service
  • Protect stored data using encryption and restricted access controls
  • Delete recordings upon user request (where applicable)

If you do not want recordings stored, you can stop using the recording features or disable storage where settings allow.

4. Do We Share Audio Data With Third Parties?

We do not sell audio recordings or user data.

We may share limited data only when necessary to:

  • Provide core features through trusted service providers (e.g., cloud hosting)
  • Comply with legal obligations, law enforcement requests, or protect safety and security

Any service providers are contractually obligated to protect data and cannot use it for their own purposes.

5. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for children under 13 (or the equivalent age of consent in your region).

We do not knowingly collect audio recordings or personal information from children. If we discover such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly.

6. Security Measures

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect recordings and related data, including:

  • Encryption during transfer (HTTPS)
  • Access controls and authentication
  • Limited retention policies

However, no system can guarantee 100% security.

7. Your Choices and Controls

You can:

  • Deny microphone permission in your device settings
  • Revoke previously granted microphone access at any time
  • Delete locally stored recordings
  • Request deletion of server-stored recordings (if applicable)

Note: Some features may not function without microphone access.

7. Your Rights

Under UAE data protection law, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data. You may also object to processing or withdraw consent at any time.

8. Security Measures

We implement technical and organizational measures such as encrypted storage, secure connections (HTTPS), and restricted access to protect your personal data from unauthorized access or loss.
