Where the car waits in Al Warqa

A typical trip to Downtown or Business Bay crosses the Business Bay Crossing gate on Al Khail Road, and a run out to the Marina or further along Sheikh Zayed Road adds the Al Safa or Al Safa South gates.

Each crossing is AED 6 during peak hours, 06:00 to 10:00 and 16:00 to 20:00, and AED 4 off peak, with no charge between 01:00 and 06:00. Sundays and public holidays are a flat AED 4. Two linked gates passed within an hour count as a single charge, so a straight Downtown and back run isn't as steep as it first looks. Salik is read automatically as you pass and is passed on to you at cost. Parking, by contrast, is mostly a non issue from an Al Warqa base unless you're heading into a paid zone in the city, where the mall car parks are free and the metered street zones are the ones to watch.

No deposit, and how Salik and fines are settled
