It costs you ride comfort and a slice of real range. Two motors, all-wheel drive, roughly 393 kW at the peak. In practice that means the Model Y Performance does not accelerate so much as reposition itself. There is no downshift, no rising note, no moment where the car decides it is ready. You ask and you are already past. On a busy E11 at dusk, when the middle lane is full of drivers who change their mind late, that response is genuinely useful rather than just entertaining. Overtaking becomes a decision instead of a project.

The catch arrives at low speed, and it arrives constantly. Those 21 inch wheels wear very little tyre sidewall, and Dubai's roads are full of the exact surface that punishes them. The heat pump can run the air conditioning hard while the car is stationary and draws it down quickly, and the rear vents mean back seat passengers get cool air at nearly the same rate as the front. The useful habit is starting the climate from your phone a few minutes before you walk out. Do that once in the middle of summer and you will do it every day afterwards. Heat also affects charging speed, so on the hottest afternoons expect a fast charger to be a little slower than the headline number suggests.

Who should take it, and who should take the standard car
