Green is not a colour you see often on a Nissan Patrol 2025 in Dubai, and it is worth addressing before anything else on this page. Any figure quoting 4.8 litres or 280 hp belongs to the older Super Safari, a simpler and much older vehicle, and it has nothing to do with this one. The new engine gets a two-and-a-half-tonne SUV to 100 km/h in about 6.7 seconds, and it does that with less drama than the V8 it replaced. The turbos are already working by the time you ask for power, so closing a gap on the highway is a squeeze of the pedal rather than a downshift and a wait, and the cabin stays quieter at a cruise.

None of that comes at the cost of the hardware that matters off the tarmac. It is still a body-on-frame 4x4 with a low-range transfer case and terrain modes for sand, rock, mud and snow, riding on 273 mm of ground clearance. Most rentals never leave the road, and that is fine, but the capability is real if your week calls for it.

Seven seats and where the luggage actually goes

Depending on the middle-row layout, the Patrol seats seven or eight, and the third row is built for grown adults on a real trip, not just children folded in for a short hop. Beyond that, paint colour does not change how the car handles a Dubai summer. The tint on the glass and the size of the AC system do the real work, not the shade of the bodywork, and a lighter green like this one reflects slightly more heat off the bonnet than a black or dark grey Patrol would, if anything working in your favour. Leave it in an open car park through a July afternoon and the first minute back inside is warm, as it is in any car here, but the system pulls the cabin down fast once you are moving. The vents run strong front and rear, so the third row gets real cold air rather than whatever drifts back once the front seats are comfortable.

Nissan quotes 9.9 L/100km combined for the twin-turbo V6, which is a fair number for steady driving but optimistic for a week of stop-start city traffic with the AC working hard. Expect real use to sit closer to 12 or 13 L/100km around town. The 97-litre tank absorbs that without turning fuel stops into a daily chore, and it gives you a proper range for a run out to Hatta or up the coast. The new V6 makes it a noticeably nicer thing to drive than the old V8 version, and renting from age 21 puts it within reach of drivers other desks in this class would turn away.

Look elsewhere if it is one or two of you running errands and the odd airport drop. You will spend the week parking a five-metre SUV and feeding a 97-litre tank for a job a mid-size SUV or a sedan handles for less money and far less fuss in a tight bay. If the size and the terrain genuinely suit your week, though, this green Patrol does the job as well as any other colour in the fleet, and it is easier to find again once you have parked it.
