We hand over the MG 3 2025 across Dubai with 250 km a day built into the rental, which is the number that quietly matters most on a small hatch like this. Run the school drop, an errand or two in Al Quoz and an evening across to Downtown, and you'll rarely scratch that allowance. The MG 3 is an economy five-seater built to keep a Dubai week cheap: a frugal 1.5 petrol that sips fuel, easy parking, and low running costs from the pump to the toll gate. It isn't a fast car or a roomy one. What it does is keep your spend down while you get around the city, and most weeks that's the whole point.
The engine is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol paired with a CVT automatic, front-wheel drive, 109 horsepower. None of that is exciting, and the frugality is exactly why you'd pick it. Combined economy is 16.4 km per litre, and on a 45-litre tank that's a quoted range of 737 km. In practice you won't see the brochure number. Dubai stop-and-go traffic, the AC fighting 45-degree heat, and a few highway stints will pull real economy down. Plan for the high teens to low twenties in litres across a week of mixed city driving, and you're still looking at one fill, maybe a top-up, for seven days of normal use. That's the case for this car in one line: it goes a long way between visits to the pump.
Two costs land on you regardless of the car. Salik toll gates charge per crossing and pass straight to the renter, so a route that dodges Al Maktoum Bridge or Sheikh Zayed gates saves a few dirhams a day. Any RTA fines do the same. The MG 3 won't change those bills, but its small thirst keeps the part you control low.

At 4,113 mm long it's a genuinely small car, and in Dubai that pays off daily. Tight multi-storey bays in Marina and the older Deira car parks stop being a fight. U-turns close up, and you slot into the kind of gap a crossover driver circles past. Visibility out the front is good for judging a kerb or a ramp lip.
The 132 mm ground clearance is the one number to respect. That's low. Take the speed bumps in residential clusters and the steeper mall ramps at a crawl, and angle in rather than charging straight, or you'll hear the underside kiss the concrete. On flat city tarmac it's a non-issue. Off any kerb or sand, it's the wrong tool, and you shouldn't ask it to be anything else.
A small cabin has one advantage in summer: less air to cool. Park the MG 3 under the sun at 45 degrees and the AC pulls the interior down to bearable faster than a big SUV would, because there's simply less volume to chill. Front vents do the work; don't expect rear vents or a separate climate zone at this level. Start it, set the fan high for the first couple of minutes with the windows cracked to dump the worst of the heat, then close up. Within five minutes or so the front seats are comfortable. Back-seat passengers on a long midday run will feel it more, so it's a better car for one or two people than a fully loaded four.
The boot is the honest weak point. It takes one large suitcase and a soft bag, or two medium cases if you fold them in carefully. That's enough for a couple on a week's stay or a solo traveller doing DXB and DWC airport hops. It is not enough for a family of four with full holiday luggage. Drop the rear seats and you free up real space for a flat-pack run or a big grocery shop, but with all five seats up and the boot loaded, the cabin gets tight fast. Pack light and it's fine. Pack like you're moving house and you'll be wedging bags onto laps.
Around town the CVT and 109 horsepower are perfectly adequate. The car is light and responsive enough for traffic, lane changes and the daily commute. Get onto the E11 and the limits show. Merging at speed and overtaking a truck takes planning, because the engine works hard above 100 and the CVT holds the revs high while it gathers pace. It'll cruise at the legal limit all day, but it's not the car for confident, quick overtakes on a long intercity run. For someone who lives in the fast lane on Sheikh Zayed Road, it'll feel out of its depth.
Seatbelts are mandatory in every seat under RTA rules, and that's worth a mention here only because the rear bench is best treated as occasional rather than full-time for adults.
Rent the MG 3 2025 if you're one or two people who want the cheapest sensible automatic for city commuting and errands, and you care more about the fuel bill than about pace or space. For a solo professional, a couple, or anyone whose week is mostly short hops around Dubai, it's a smart, low-cost pick that barely touches the 250 km daily allowance. Size up if you're four adults with airport luggage, if you spend most of your driving on the E11 at speed, or if you need a real boot. In those cases a compact sedan or a small crossover is worth the extra. Stay within what this car is, a frugal little city hatch, and it does that job well and cheaply.
