If you were hoping a newer model year meant more punch or a smoother gearbox, it doesn't, and we'd rather tell you that now than have you find out after you've picked it up. Around town that's not a problem. The CVT pulls away from a red light on JBR or edges out of a supermarket barrier without hunting for a gear, and 60 to 80 km/h stop-start traffic is exactly what this engine was tuned for. Take it onto Sheikh Zayed Road and the ceiling shows up fast. It'll cruise at 120 km/h without strain, but a loaded overtake past a truck wants a run-up rather than a confident stab of the pedal, and that gets more noticeable with four people and their bags aboard. Front-wheel drive and a soft suspension tune mean it leans through a roundabout more than it grips one, which is fine at city speeds and not something to push on a fast merge.

What the small boot and back seat actually fit

At 293 litres the boot is on the small side for the class, enough for one large suitcase and a soft bag, not a second hard case. Two people flying into DXB or DWC with a week's luggage will manage without folding anything down. Two couples travelling together with four bags between them will not, and no repacking fixes that.
