We bring the new MG 3 2025 to your door in Dubai, usually within an hour or two, and you can take it with the no-deposit option if you'd rather not tie up cash for a week. This is the latest generation of MG's smallest hatch, redesigned inside and out, and it's the car I reach for when someone wants the cheapest sensible automatic for city errands without driving something that feels a decade old. The question this page settles: is a small, easy-to-park hybrid hatch enough for your week, or should you size up to a small SUV for the height and space.
The headline here is the powertrain. It's badged as a petrol economy car, but it's the Hybrid+ setup: a 1.5-litre engine paired with an electric motor for a combined 195 horsepower and a 0 to 100 time of around 8 seconds. That's quick for the class. The rest of the car is honest about its price point. The cabin is modern and well laid out, with a digital driver display and a central touchscreen, but the plastics are hard and clearly built to a budget. You notice it on the doors and lower dash, not in a way that ruins the car.

This is where the hybrid earns its keep. Official economy sits around 4.4 litres per 100 km, and you won't quite match that in real Dubai driving, but city stop-and-go is exactly where a hybrid works best. The electric motor handles the crawl, and the engine rests at lights. On a 45-litre tank that means most renters go the better part of a week of normal city use before thinking about a fuel stop. If your week is mostly short hops around town, you may fill once or not at all.
At just over four metres long the MG 3 is genuinely easy to place. It slots into short multi-storey bays, threads Marina side streets without drama, and the turning circle makes internal-road U-turns painless. Ground clearance is 117 mm, normal hatch territory. You'll clear most speed bumps if you take the sharp ones slowly, and steep mall ramps are fine. Don't expect to ride up a high kerb or a rough track. This car wants tarmac, and on tarmac it's one of the simplest things we rent to live with.
The cabin is small, and in a Dubai summer that's an advantage. After a few hours parked in the high 40s, a small cabin cools faster than a big one, and the AC pulls the temperature down quickly once you're moving. Front vents are strong. There are no separate rear vents worth counting on, so back-seat passengers rely on airflow from the front, fine for short trips and slower to feel comfortable on a long one. Park in shade where you can, give it a minute before you set off in July, and it copes well.
The hybrid's extra power means the MG 3 doesn't feel out of its depth merging onto Sheikh Zayed Road the way a weaker city hatch does. There's enough shove to slot into fast traffic and overtake without a long run-up. That said, it's still a light, short hatchback. At a steady cruise it's comfortable, but it gets busier and noisier the harder you push it, and it's happiest with the flow rather than chasing the fast lane. For airport runs to DXB or the longer pull out to DWC it's perfectly capable. It just isn't a car that rewards speed.
The boot holds 293 litres, which is small-hatch honest. One large suitcase plus a soft bag fits comfortably; a full set of big check-in cases for four does not. Drop the rear seats and you've got real space for a week's shopping. Up front there's good room for two adults. The back seats two in comfort and three at a squeeze for short trips, so for a solo driver or a couple it's roomy, and for a family of four doing local trips it works.
Salik tolls run to your account, and any RTA fines during the rental pass to you, so watch the speed cameras and toll gantries. Seatbelts are mandatory in every seat, and a child seat is required for under-fours, which we can arrange.
Rent the MG 3 2025 if you're a solo driver or a couple who wants the cheapest modern automatic for city errands, short commutes and the odd airport run. It's easy to park, light on fuel, and better equipped and quicker than its budget position implies. The hybrid is the reason I'd pick it over older cheap hatches.
Size up to a small SUV if you want a higher driving position, more boot for four people's luggage, or a cabin that feels a step above budget. And if your week is mostly long highway miles with a full load, a small sedan will be calmer and quieter at speed. For everyone else doing normal Dubai city driving, this is the sensible-cheap pick.
