Kia Picanto 2025 - start from 141 AED / day

Need a little hatch that's painless to park and cheap to run for a week of city errands? We deliver the Kia Picanto 2025 to your door in Dubai, and every rental comes with 250 km a day included, enough to cover most people's commute, mall runs and short hops without watching the odometer. This is the newest version of Kia's smallest car, and it's built for one job: getting one or two people around town with the least fuss. The whole point of this page is to tell you honestly when the Picanto is the right call and when you should size up to something bigger.

Where the Picanto actually shines

Think solo commuting, the school drop, a supermarket run, a coffee meeting across town. In that life the Picanto is hard to beat. It's 3,595 mm long, which is short enough that the gaps other cars drive past become parking spaces for you. Tight multi-storey bays, the awkward end-of-row slot, a kerbside spot near a cafe, you'll fit where a sedan driver gives up and circles again.

The 1.2L four-cylinder makes 83 hp through a 4-speed automatic, and around town that's plenty. Off the line and up to roughly 80 the little engine feels willing and the steering is light, so U-turns and three-point manoeuvres take almost no effort. For the kind of stop-start driving most renters do inside the city, it does everything you ask.

The honest limits

Above 100 the Picanto runs out of breath. On Sheikh Zayed Road it'll happily sit at the limit, but a confident overtake at speed needs planning, and a 4-speed automatic with 83 hp is working hard when you ask for a sudden burst. If your week involves long motorway stretches or regular high-speed cruising, this isn't the car you'll enjoy.

Space is the other ceiling. Five seatbelts are listed, but the back is realistically for two, and for short trips. Put two adults in the rear behind two tall adults up front and knee room runs out fast. Four adults plus a week's worth of cases is where the Picanto stops making sense.

Does my luggage fit

Be realistic here. With the rear seats up you get a small boot, fine for the weekly shop, a couple of soft bags, a cabin case. One large suitcase plus a backpack is about the honest limit before you start folding seats. Drop the rear bench and the space opens right up to over a thousand litres, which swallows a flat-pack run or a single big trip's worth of gear, but then you've lost your back seats.

For an airport pickup this matters. A solo traveller with one case and a carry-on is sorted. Two people flying in with two large suitcases each will be wedging bags onto the back seat, so for a DXB or DWC run with a full load, a compact sedan is the smarter book. For a quick airport drop or a single-bag arrival, the Picanto is genuinely fine.

The colour list is what Kia offers for the model. We can't promise a specific shade on a given booking, so treat the list as the range, not a guarantee.

How often you'll refuel

The tank is small at 35 litres, but so is the car's appetite. In real Dubai city driving you'll see somewhere around 12 to 14 km per litre, which is honest stop-start economy rather than a brochure figure. That works out to a tank lasting most of a normal week of in-town use, and the official combined range stretches to around 648 km if a chunk of your driving is steady, lighter highway running. Practically, a commuter doing city miles fills up maybe once a week. The fuel savings are a real reason people pick this car over a bigger automatic.

Living with it in the heat

In a Dubai summer the cabin matters more than the spec sheet suggests. The good news with a car this small is volume: there's not much air to cool, so the AC pulls a parked cabin down quicker than it would in a large SUV. Park in the sun at 45 and the first minute is still hot, but the front vents get on top of it fast once you're moving. There are no separate rear vents, which is normal for this class, so rear passengers rely on airflow from the front. For one or two people up front, you'll be comfortable quickly.

A few Dubai rules worth knowing

Salik tolls are charged to you, the renter, as you pass the gates, and any RTA fines during your rental period pass to you as well. Seatbelts are mandatory in every seat, and there are no exceptions worth risking. None of this is specific to the Picanto, but it's the part of a Dubai rental people forget until the bill arrives.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the Picanto 2025 if you're one or two people doing city driving and you want the easiest car in Dubai to park and the cheapest to fuel. For commuting, errands and short hops it's the right tool, and the small footprint genuinely makes daily life easier.

Skip it if you're carrying four adults regularly, running long motorway days, or arriving with a full load of airport luggage. In those cases size up to a compact sedan or a small SUV and you'll be happier all week. Match the car to how you'll actually drive, and for solo and two-up city life the newest little Kia is hard to argue with.
