The bigger change under the skin is the independent rear suspension this fifth generation switched to, replacing the old solid axle. It shows up as a settled, controlled ride over expansion joints and speed bumps rather than the floaty motion older Yukons had. None of that makes it a dune car. Four-wheel drive here suits a graded track, a wet road or a firm beach, not low-range crawling through soft sand. If Hatta's steeper trails or real dune bashing are the actual plan, a Nissan Patrol or Land Cruiser with proper low-range gearing does that job better.

Seven seats, real boot space, and the daily grind

This is a genuine seven-seater, eight if you ask for a bench in place of the middle captain's chairs, and the third row is where the size earns its keep. Running a V8 this size costs what you'd expect. The official combined figure is 13.8 litres per 100 km, and a week of real Dubai city driving with the AC working hard tends to land closer to 16 or 17. The 91-litre tank still buys a decent stretch between stops, but treat fuel as a genuine line item on a car this size, not an afterthought. Who this Yukon fits, and who should rent something else

If the real plan involves dunes rather than a firm track, a Nissan Patrol with low-range gearing suits that brief better than a road-biased Yukon.

Rent something else if it's one or two of you running errands around the city. You'd be parking a five-metre SUV and feeding a V8 for room and mileage you won't use, and a mid-size crossover handles the same trips for a lot less fuel and an easier time finding a bay.
