The 5.3-litre V8, and the redesign it arrived on

2021 is the year GM replaced the old Tahoe wholesale: longer wheelbase, wider track, independent rear suspension in place of the old solid axle, all on the current T1XX platform that still underpins the model today. It isn't a facelift year, it's the newest architecture the nameplate has had. Power comes from a 5.3-litre EcoTec3 V8 making 355 hp and 519 Nm, sent through a ten-speed automatic to all four wheels.

What you notice from the seat isn't the horsepower figure, it's how little the engine has to work. This stays a family and highway hauler, not a rock-crawler for Hatta's harder trails.

Seating for seven, and where the luggage actually fits

Seven seats come standard, eight if you take a bench across the middle row instead of captain's chairs, and the difference that matters is the third row. Adults sit back there for a real airport run or a drive up the coast, not just kids tolerating ten minutes to the mall. Brown sits in the middle of the heat-absorption scale, warmer than a white or silver body but easier than a true black one. Leave it parked at a mall or a villa driveway through a July afternoon and it still needs a few minutes to recover, windows cracked and the blower on high, but the dash and seats don't run quite as hot as they would under black paint on the same day. Once the system catches up, it holds its own in a cabin this size, and the third row gets its own vents, so cold air reaches the back seats instead of whatever drifts down from the front. The right group for this one, and when to choose something else
