Range is where honesty matters on any EV. The 100 kWh battery is rated for roughly 590 km on the WLTP cycle, and the UAE listing quotes as high as 620 km for the lighter rear-drive car. Charging it in Dubai

Space, boot and the cabin in the heat

The estate shape earns its keep on luggage. The boot holds 539 litres in normal use, which takes two large hard cases and a couple of soft bags without a rethink, and there is a small 30-litre compartment under the bonnet for cables. Drop the rear seats and it opens to over 2,000 litres, so a big furniture run or a full boot of gear is no drama. The heat is the summer question every renter asks. A big glass cabin bakes hard in a Dubai car park, but an EV has one quiet advantage: you can cool it remotely before you climb back in, so the first minute is far less brutal than in a petrol car. The climate system is strong, rear passengers get their own vents, and the battery does not mind the wait. Park in shade or a basement when you can and even that is easier.

Who should rent it, and who should stick to petrol or a badge

Rent the Zeekr 001 if you want a fast, spacious, genuinely premium EV for a Dubai week and you are happy to plan a charge every couple of days. For the money it undercuts the German electrics while matching them on pace and space, and as an airport-and-highway car it is hard to fault. A family of four with luggage, or anyone who just enjoys a quick, quiet, well-built car, will get their money's worth.

Two groups should look elsewhere. If you would rather not think about charging at all, a petrol sedan or SUV is the simpler week, since you refill in five minutes anywhere. And if the badge on the bonnet is part of why you are renting, a Mercedes or BMW electric carries a name the Zeekr does not yet, though you pay for it. The rest is straightforward.
