We deliver the Toyota Land Cruiser 2023 to your door in Dubai in one to two hours, fuelled and ready for the highway or the dunes. This is the 300-series flagship, a full-size body-on-frame 4x4 with three rows and seven seats, and in the Gulf it's the default answer when someone needs one vehicle that handles the school run, a Hatta weekend and a big-family airport pickup without flinching. The question this page settles is simple. The Land Cruiser is the safe, go-anywhere choice for most people who actually need its size, but it asks for a lot of fuel and a lot of parking space, and a few renters are better off one size down.
The Land Cruiser earns its reputation by being hard to break. The 2023 car runs a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 with a 10-speed automatic and full-time four-wheel drive, so it pulls strongly from low revs and never feels short of pace on Sheikh Zayed Road. The 299 hp and 0 to 100 in 6.8 seconds are genuinely quick for something this heavy. You sit high, the view down the road is commanding, and the cabin stays composed at a steady 120 where smaller SUVs start to feel busy. For long runs to Abu Dhabi or up to Ras Al Khaimah, it's about as relaxed as a big 4x4 gets.

Seven seats, but read the rows honestly. The first two rows are excellent, with two up front and three across the middle in real comfort, proper legroom and their own air vents. The third row is usable for kids or shorter adult trips, and it folds flat when you don't need it. The catch is the boot. With all three rows up, cargo space is tight, enough for a few soft bags, not a week of hard cases. Drop the third row and you get a large, square load bay that swallows a full family's luggage plus a stroller and a cooler. So for six people and a full airport load you're choosing between the back row and the suitcases. For four or five people with luggage, it's one of the roomiest things we rent.
Cabin cooling is a real strength, and it matters when a parked car has been baking at 45 degrees. The Land Cruiser has three rows of vents, including roof-mounted outlets for the back, so the whole cabin pulls down quickly rather than just the front seats. Park in the sun for an hour and the first few minutes are rough, like any car, but the strong front-to-back airflow clears the heat faster than most. Rear passengers, including kids in the third row, actually get cold air, which not every seven-seater can claim.
This is where the Land Cruiser asks something back. At nearly five metres long and two metres wide, it's a big vehicle to thread through Marina side streets and into tight multi-storey bays. Mall ramps and speed bumps are no trouble thanks to the high clearance, but a packed parking structure takes patience and a careful eye on the mirrors, and U-turns need room. If your week is almost entirely city errands and solo commuting, you're paying for size you won't use, and a mid-size SUV is easier to live with day to day.
It drinks, and there's no polite way around it. Expect real-world consumption above the combined figure once you factor in Dubai traffic and the AC working hard, so a week of mixed driving means several pump visits even with a 110-litre tank. The upside is range: on a highway run that big tank takes you a long way between stops. Salik tolls and any RTA fines pass to you as the renter, and seat belts are required in every seat with child seats mandatory for under-fours. None of that is unique to this car, but the fuel bill is worth budgeting for.
This is the reason most people choose a Land Cruiser over a softer crossover. With full-time four-wheel drive, serious ground clearance and a body-on-frame chassis built for abuse, it's genuinely capable on desert tracks, in soft sand and on the rough roads up to Hatta. It does the dune trips that would leave a road-biased SUV stuck or damaged. If your week includes a desert camp, a wadi drive or anything off the tarmac, this is the right tool, and few rentals in Dubai do it as confidently.
Rent the Land Cruiser if you've got a big family, real luggage, a desert or Hatta trip planned, or a long cross-country drive. It's the dependable, comfortable, go-anywhere choice, and it does all of those jobs at once without complaint. If your trip is pure city, short hops and easy parking, look one size down at a mid-size SUV. You'll spend less on fuel, park more easily, and lose nothing you'll actually miss. The Land Cruiser is the right call when you need everything it offers, and an expensive habit when you don't.
