If your week in Dubai is a commute, a few errands and one airport run, the Suzuki Dzire 2023 does all of it on next to no fuel. We rent it from 18, where most desks hold out for 21, and bring it to your door or to DXB in one to two hours. The Dzire is a sub-four-metre sedan built around one idea: cover daily city miles as cheaply as possible while still giving you a proper boot. This page is about who that idea suits. For a solo commuter or a budget airport pickup it's hard to beat on cost, and we'll be straight about where it falls short of a roomier saloon.
This is where the Dzire makes its case. The 37-litre tank is small, but the 1.2-litre petrol drinks so little that the two cancel out and then some. Suzuki's lab figures sit up around 24 to 25 km/L, and you won't see those in Dubai. With the AC working against 45-degree heat and stop-start traffic on the school run, plan for real city economy well below that, climbing toward the brochure on a gentle highway cruise. Either way it adds up to a long stretch between fills. A typical week of commuting, errands and a trip or two to the airport usually means one fill, maybe a top-up before you hand the keys back. The fuel bill is among the lowest of anything on our fleet.
Suzuki kept the Dzire under four metres for parking and tax reasons, then fitted a deep saloon trunk instead of a hatchback's shallow shelf. At 378 litres it takes two large suitcases and a soft bag without a fight, which is what makes this a smart cheap option for a DXB or DWC pickup when you've got luggage but a tight budget. The bags ride in the boot and your passengers keep the back seat. That separation is the Dzire's real trick, and it's why a small sedan like this beats a similarly priced hatch for an airport run.

Inside, the Dzire is honest about what it is. The plastics are hard, the trim is plain, and the back seat is comfortable for two adults, or three at a squeeze on shorter trips. The line you need to know is four grown adults plus a week of airport cases. That's where it gets tight, and where we'd point you at a Honda City or a Suzuki Ciaz for more shoulder room and a softer ride. For one or two people, the space is never the problem.
The 1.2 makes 83 hp through an automatic to the front wheels, which is enough to feel light and easy at city speeds. It slips through Salik gates, keeps pace in normal traffic and parks itself in gaps a bigger car can't. The honest part comes above 100 on Sheikh Zayed Road, where the modest power shows. Overtaking needs planning, and a full cabin with the AC fighting the heat saps what little urgency the engine has. For one or two people doing city miles and the occasional highway stretch, that's fine. For regular high-speed runs with passengers aboard, you'd want something with more under the bonnet.
A small cabin is the Dzire's ally in summer. There's less air to chill, so the AC pulls a baking, parked interior down to comfortable faster than a big SUV manages. The front vents blow cold and strong. There are no rear vents, so back-seat passengers feel the cool a beat later, which matters if you regularly carry people in the back through July and August. Crack the windows for the first minute after a midday park and the system catches up quickly. For two up front, cooling is never an issue.
At just under four metres, the Dzire is one of the easiest cars to place in Dubai. Tight multi-storey bays, Marina ramps and a crowded mall garage are non-events, and the light steering makes U-turns and reverse parking simple. The 163 mm of ground clearance clears speed bumps and mall ramps without scraping, so you're not nursing it over every hump. Salik tolls and any RTA fines during your rental pass to you as the renter, seat belts are required in every seat, and child seats are needed for under-fours. None of that is unusual for Dubai, but it's worth knowing before you set off.
Rent the Dzire if you're one or two people who want the lowest possible fuel and running costs, easy parking, and a real boot for airport luggage. As a solo commuter car or a budget airport pickup, it's tough to beat on cost. It's value, not luxury, and we'd rather be honest with you about that. If you carry four adults regularly, spend most of your week at highway speed on Sheikh Zayed Road, or want a quieter, plusher cabin, step up to a Honda City or a Ciaz. For everyone else watching the budget, the Dzire does the job and barely touches the pump doing it.
