Suzuki Ciaz 2024 - start from 127 AED / day

We hand over the Suzuki Ciaz 2024 across Dubai with 250 km a day included, which is enough road for a week of errands plus a couple of airport runs without watching the odometer. The Ciaz is the roomy, fuel-light value sedan in our economy line: a four-door that gives you a back seat adults can actually sit in and a boot that swallows real luggage, all at an economy rate. What this page sorts out is who it suits. If you want passenger and cargo space on a tight budget and you mostly drive in the city, it's a strong pick. If you chase highway pull or a high seating position, you'll want to size up.

Space is the reason to rent it

The Ciaz is one of the more generous cabins you'll find at this rate. The wheelbase is long for the class, so the rear bench has proper knee room. Three adults across the back works for a hotel-to-mall hop, and two travel in genuine comfort on a longer day out. Up front it's plain. The plastics are budget, the screen is basic, and nobody will call the interior plush. But the seats are soft and the cabin is quiet enough at city speeds, which is what most renters actually feel.

The boot is the headline. At 510 litres it's bigger than what most sedans in this bracket offer, and that changes the airport-run maths.

Do my cases fit

For a DXB or DWC pickup with a full party, the boot earns its keep. Two large suitcases plus a couple of soft bags go in flat, and a third case fits if you pack sensibly. A family of four with a week of luggage will not be playing luggage Tetris in the back seat. That's the practical edge the Ciaz has over a hatchback or a smaller sedan: the bags stay in the boot and the passengers keep their space.

How far on a tank

The Ciaz runs a 43-litre tank and the 1.5L engine is light on fuel, which is the other half of its value case. Suzuki's lab figures sit around 20 km per litre, and you won't see that in Dubai. With the AC fighting 45 degree heat and stop-start traffic on the school run, plan for roughly 13 to 15 km per litre in real city use, better on a steady highway cruise. Even at the honest figure, a full tank covers a normal week of city driving and then some, so you're filling up maybe once across a typical rental. Salik tolls and any RTA fines run on the renter's account, so the gate beeps and the airport charges are yours to settle.

Parking, ramps and the daily grind

At 4.49 metres the Ciaz is a compact sedan, not a big one, so it parks easily. Tight multi-storey bays in the Marina or a packed mall garage are no drama, and the light steering makes U-turns and reversing simple. Ground clearance is a sensible 170 mm, which clears Dubai's speed bumps and mall ramps without you holding your breath. The soft suspension takes the sting out of broken patches and ramp lips. This is a car you stop thinking about in traffic, which for a daily runabout is the whole point.

On Sheikh Zayed Road, be realistic

The automatic is the right call for Dubai. In stop-and-go traffic you do not want a clutch, and the Ciaz's auto is smooth enough around town. On the open road, though, 105 hp is modest. It cruises at highway speed comfortably and holds 100 to 120 without fuss. Ask for a hard overtake or a quick merge onto a fast stretch of the E11 and the engine works for it, with a noticeable lag before the speed arrives. For one or two people it's fine. Load it with five adults and luggage and the climb up to speed gets slower still. Drive it relaxed and it's perfectly happy. Drive it like a hot hatch and you'll be disappointed.

Heat and the AC

Cooling matters more than spec sheets admit when the car has baked in a 45 degree car park. The Ciaz's AC pulls a hot cabin down at a steady, ordinary pace rather than a fast one, so the first few minutes after a midday pickup are warm. The front vents do the work; there are no rear vents, so back-seat passengers wait a little longer for the cool air to reach them. Park in shade where you can and give it a minute before you load the kids in. Child seats are required for under-fours, and we'll fit one on request.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the Ciaz if you want sedan space and a big boot on an economy budget, you're mostly driving in the city, and a relaxed pace suits you. Couples and small families heading to and from the airport get the most out of it: the luggage goes in the boot and everyone keeps their legroom. If you want a higher view of the road or proper highway muscle for long fast runs, look at a crossover or a larger-engined sedan. And if it's just you darting through the busiest parts of town and squeezing into the tightest kerbside gaps, a hatchback parks tighter and costs even less to run. For the roomy, fuel-light middle ground, the Ciaz is hard to beat at this rate.
