Suzuki Ciaz 2023 - start from 112 AED / day

Book the Suzuki Ciaz 2023 in Dubai and the car comes to you, usually inside one to two hours, instead of you queuing at a desk on arrival. That suits the renter this sedan is built for: someone who wants room and a low fuel bill more than badge or pace. The Ciaz is a frugal compact sedan with a boot that belongs on a bigger car, and this page settles one question above the rest, which is whether it carries what you're actually bringing to Dubai. If your week involves airport runs and luggage, the answer is usually yes. If it involves fast overtaking on the E11, you'll want to size up.

Will my luggage fit

Lead with this, because it's where the Ciaz earns its keep. The 510-litre boot is large for the economy class, and that's not a figure quoted to look thorough. Two large hard cases plus a couple of cabin bags go in flat, with room for a backpack on top. A family of four landing at DXB or DWC with a week of luggage won't be stacking cases on the back seat. Fold the rear bench and the space swallows a stroller, a few boxes, or a flat-pack run from the store. For four adults with four full-size cases the back seat carries the overflow, but next to the hatchbacks people default to for airport pickups, the Ciaz is plainly the easier car to load.

Room in the back, plain up front

Sit in the back of most cars at this price and your knees touch the seat ahead. The Ciaz doesn't do that. At 4490 mm on a long wheelbase it carries one of the roomiest rear benches in the class, and three adults across the back for a half-hour run to Downtown is genuinely fine. The front is comfortable too, with a flat dash and seats that don't punish you on a long transfer.

The trade is honest. The cabin is basic, with hard plastics and plain trim, no soft-touch panels or fancy screen. For a value commuter that nobody's trying to impress in, most renters stop noticing within a day.

Fuel bills and how often you'll fill up

The 1.5-litre is genuinely frugal, which is the other half of the case. Suzuki's lab figure sits near 20 km per litre, and real Dubai driving lands lower. With the AC fighting 45-degree heat and city stop-start, expect closer to 14 to 16 km per litre, better on a steady cruise. On the 43-litre tank that's still a comfortable run of mixed driving between fills. A normal week of commuting, mall trips and one airport leg rarely needs more than a single visit to the pump. Salik tolls run on the renter's account, so every gate you pass is yours to settle, and any RTA fines pass to you as well.

On Sheikh Zayed Road and around town

The Ciaz is tuned for calm, not pace. The 105 hp engine and its automatic are happy to cruise the E11 at 120, and overtaking with one passenger is fine. Load it with four adults and luggage, then ask for a quick highway pass, and the engine gets vocal and unhurried. Plan your overtakes and you'll never be bothered. Around town it's easy to live with. At 1730 mm wide it slots into Marina and mall bays without drama, the 170 mm clearance clears speed bumps and ramps cleanly, and light steering makes tight multi-storey parks simple.

Heat, AC and the rules

Park it in July sun and the cabin bakes like any car here. The AC pulls a hot cabin down to comfortable through the front vents inside a few minutes once you're moving. There are no rear vents at this price, but the cabin is small enough that the front system covers it, so back-seat passengers aren't left baking for long. Give it a head start on a midday pickup. Seatbelts are mandatory in every seat, and children under four need a child seat, which we'll fit on request.

Who should rent the Ciaz, and who shouldn't

Rent it if you want the most rear-seat and boot room you can get on a budget, low fuel bills, and an easy car for commuting and airport runs. For a couple, a small family, or anyone doing steady city and highway miles without caring about kit or speed, it's one of the smartest value picks in the class, and doorstep delivery means you're driving soon after you land.

Step up if you want more. If you'll spend long stretches at highway speed fully loaded, or you want a nicer cabin and a livelier drive, a Honda City or a Toyota Corolla is the better car, and they cost more for a reason. The Ciaz doesn't pretend to be either. It gives you space and economy for less, and for a lot of Dubai renters, that's the argument that wins.
