Suzuki Ciaz 2022 - start from 102 AED / day

Need a roomy sedan without the running costs of one? We hand over the Suzuki Ciaz 2022 across Dubai with 250 km a day already included in the rate, so a week of school runs, mall trips and the odd airport dash won't have you watching an odometer. The Ciaz is a budget car that spends its money where it counts: rear legroom and boot space that genuinely surprise people for the rate. This page is about whether that trade is right for you, because the Ciaz asks you to give up cabin polish and outright pace in return for room and small fuel bills.

What the Ciaz actually is

This is a compact sedan stretched longer than most rivals in its bracket, and it uses that length on the inside. The 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol drives the front wheels through a four-speed automatic, makes 104 hp, and is tuned for calm rather than urgency. Around town and on errands it does the job quietly. Ask it to overtake quickly on Sheikh Zayed Road or merge into fast E11 traffic with four people aboard, and you'll feel the older gearbox think before it drops down. Plan your moves and it's fine.

Space and the boot: do my airport cases fit

This is the Ciaz's real argument. At 4490 mm long, it carries one of the longer wheelbases in the budget-sedan class, and the back seat is where you feel it. Three adults across the rear is realistic for a city trip, not a token claim, and tall passengers behind tall drivers aren't folded in half. For a family of four plus a grandparent, that matters more than any badge.

The boot follows through. A DXB or DWC airport run with two large suitcases and a couple of cabin bags loads without a fight, and you'll still have room for a pushchair or the duty-free haul. That's the line where the Ciaz pulls ahead of hatchbacks and shorter sedans renting for similar money.

Fuel and how often you'll refuel

The 43-litre tank and real city economy of roughly 15.0 to 16.7 km/L give a usable range around 645 to 888 km depending on how much of your driving is stop-start versus open road. In practice, a normal week of Dubai commuting and errands runs to one fill, maybe creeping toward a second if you're doing long daily highway stretches. With 250 km a day included, most renters never trouble the mileage cap, so the fuel bill is the only number you're really managing. For a budget sedan this size, that's genuinely cheap to run.

Heat, the cabin and the AC

A parked Ciaz in a Dubai summer is an oven like everything else, and the high-40s afternoons are the real test. The front vents cool hard and the cabin is modest in volume, so the front two seats come down to comfortable within a few minutes. The back is slower. There are no dedicated rear vents on this car, so on a 45-degree day with passengers in the back, give it a head start: switch the AC on at delivery or run it for a couple of minutes before everyone climbs in. Once it's settled, it holds temperature fine.

The cabin itself is plain. Hard plastics, simple instruments, the basics done without flair, and if interior feel is high on your list you'll notice. For a value commuter that's the point, not a flaw.

Parking, Salik and the rules

Despite the length, the Ciaz is easy to place. The body is narrow at 1730 mm, visibility is good, and the light steering makes Marina ramps, mall multi-storey bays and U-turns undramatic. Ground clearance of 160 to 170 mm clears Dubai speed bumps and ramps without scraping, so you're not nursing the nose over every entrance.

A few standing rules. Salik tolls run to your account, and any RTA fines during the rental are yours, so keep an eye on speed limits on the big roads. Seatbelts are mandatory in every seat, and children under four need a proper child seat.

Who should rent it, and who should step up

Rent the Ciaz if your priority is room and a low fuel bill: a commuter who wants real back-seat space, a family that needs the boot for airport runs, or anyone happy to drive at a relaxed pace and pocket the difference. For city driving and steady highway cruising it does everything asked of it.

Step up if you want more. If you'll spend a lot of time overtaking at speed on E11, or you care about a sharper cabin and a quicker, smoother gearbox, a Honda City or a Toyota Corolla is the better rental and worth the extra over the Ciaz. The Ciaz wins on value and space, not on polish or pace. Match it to that, and it's one of the most sensible budget sedans we hand over.
