Porsche Cayenne 2023 - start from 1,014 AED / day

Want the SUV that drives like a sports car but still swallows a family's airport luggage? That's the Porsche Cayenne 2023, and we rent it across Dubai with doorstep delivery in 1 to 2 hours, so the car meets you at your villa, hotel, or DXB arrivals instead of you queuing at a counter. This is the big, sporty one in the Porsche SUV range, sized above the Macan, and the decision this page settles is simple: do you want the largest, fastest-handling luxury SUV that genuinely carries five and their cases, or is something smaller or roomier the smarter rent for your week here.

What the Cayenne actually is on a Dubai road

The 2023 Cayenne runs a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 making 340 hp through all four wheels and an eight-speed automatic. It clears 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds, which in a two-tonne SUV feels deceptively quick, and tops out at 245 km/h you'll never legally use. What matters more than the numbers is the way it sits on Sheikh Zayed Road. At 120 it's planted and quiet, overtakes without drama, and the steering stays honest in a way most luxury SUVs lose once they get this large. If you've driven a softer full-size SUV here, the Cayenne will feel tied down and alert by comparison.

Space, luggage, and who fits

Five seats, and the rear bench is a real one. Two adults sit back there in comfort on a long airport run, three across works for shorter hops. The boot holds 770 litres behind the rear seats, which is the honest reason to pick a Cayenne over a Macan: it takes three or four large hard cases plus soft bags without folding anything down, so a family of four landing at DXB with a week's luggage loads up and goes. Need more than five seats, though, and the Cayenne can't help you. It has no third row, so a group of six or seven should look at a full-size SUV instead.

Heat and the cabin at 45 degrees

Dubai summer is the real test of any rental, and the Cayenne handles it well. The climate system is strong, and because the cabin isn't huge by full-size SUV standards it pulls a parked car down from oven temperatures quickly, usually comfortable within a couple of minutes of moving. Rear passengers get their own vents, so kids in the back aren't left to bake while the front cools. Park in shade where you can and crack the windows for the first thirty seconds, and you'll rarely feel the heat win.

Parking and ramps

It's a wide car at 1983 mm, and you feel that in older multi-storey bays around the Marina and in tight mall basements. The payoff is the camera system and sensors, which make a wide SUV manageable once you trust them. The air suspension is the quiet hero in town. Raise it for a steep mall ramp or a sharp speed bump and the Cayenne lifts clear instead of scraping its nose, then settles back down for the highway. Up to 245 mm of clearance on its highest setting means the bumps and ramps that punish low cars simply aren't a worry.

Fuel, range, and what it costs to run

This is a performance V6, not an economy car, and Dubai driving doesn't flatter it. Expect somewhere around 12 to 13 litres per 100 km in mixed city and highway use, more if you enjoy the throttle. The 90-litre tank means you're still good for roughly 700 km between fills, so a typical week of city errands and a couple of longer runs needs maybe one or two stops at the pump. Budget for premium fuel and you won't be surprised.

The Dubai admin you should know

A few practical points before you drive off. Salik tolls run on the renter's account, so every gantry you pass through on Sheikh Zayed Road and the other tagged roads is yours to settle, and any RTA speeding or parking fine during the rental passes to you as well. Seat belts are mandatory in every seat, and children under four need a proper child seat, which we can fit on request. None of this is unusual for Dubai, but it's worth knowing the tolls and fines follow the driver, not the desk.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the Cayenne if you want one car that does everything well: fast and composed on the E11, comfortable for five, and roomy enough for a real luggage load, all with the badge and the driving feel that separate it from ordinary luxury SUVs. If you're mostly running solo or as a couple around the city and don't need the boot, the smaller Macan saves you money and is easier to park while still feeling every bit a Porsche. And if your group is six or more, the Cayenne's five seats rule it out, so size up to a full-size SUV with a third row. For the buyer who wants the sportiest drive that still earns its keep as a family hauler, this is the one we'd hand you the keys to.
