We bring the Nissan Versa 2025 to your door in Dubai, usually within one to two hours of booking, so you can skip the rental-counter queue and start your week. It's a five-seat economy sedan built around one simple promise: a roomy cabin, a genuinely big boot, and a light thirst for fuel, all at a budget rate. This page is about whether that trade works for you. The Versa is happy as a solo runabout, a couple's daily, a small family's mall-and-school car, or an airport shuttle with real luggage room. The catch is modest power and a plain cabin, and below we're honest about both.
Picture a couple landing at DXB with two large cases and a few soft bags, or a family of four doing a week of supermarket runs, beach trips, and a day out to the mall. The Versa carries that load without fuss. The 1.6-litre engine puts out 122 hp through a CVT automatic, which is plenty for keeping up with traffic and merging onto Sheikh Zayed Road. What it isn't is quick. Floor it for a highway overtake at 120 and the engine gets loud and the response stays leisurely. If you spend most of your week on the E11 at speed, or you want a commanding view of the road, this isn't the car. For city driving and airport runs, it does the job and sips fuel doing it.

This is where the Versa earns its keep. On a 41-litre tank, with real Dubai city driving sitting around 7 to 8 litres per 100 km, you're looking at roughly 500 km between fills. For a typical rental week of school runs, errands, and the odd airport trip, that's one fill-up, maybe a top-up if you do a longer day out toward Hatta or Abu Dhabi. Stretch it with steady highway cruising and you'll do better. The small engine and CVT are tuned for economy over thrills, and on running cost that's the whole point of renting one.
The boot is the Versa's quiet strength. At around 425 litres it swallows two large suitcases plus a couple of soft bags with room to spare, which is more than most cars in this economy class manage. Two adults flying in with a week's luggage will be comfortable. A family of four with cases for everyone gets tighter, but the rear seats fold if you need to push something long inside. For a straight DXB or DWC airport run with passengers and bags, this is one of the easier budget sedans to load.
Five seats, and the rear bench is usable for adults on a normal trip, not just kids. Legroom in the back is decent for the class, so two grown passengers behind a tall driver won't be folded up. The cabin itself is plain and built to a budget. Hard plastics, simple trim, the basics done without polish. You get the screen and the controls you need and not much beyond that. Nobody rents a Versa for the interior, and at this rate that's a fair deal.
A Dubai afternoon in July can leave a parked cabin near 60 degrees inside. The Versa's air conditioning is straightforward front-vent cooling, and on a small cabin like this it pulls the temperature down at a reasonable pace once you're moving, though the first few minutes after a hot park are sticky. Park in shade where you can, crack the windows for the first stretch, and the AC catches up fine for normal city driving. There are no rear vents, so back-seat passengers rely on airflow from the front, which is worth knowing if you're regularly carrying people in the back through summer.
At just under 4.5 metres the Versa is an easy car to park. It slots into tight multi-storey bays, handles Marina and mall ramps without scraping in normal use, and the light steering makes U-turns and reversing simple. Ground clearance is on the low side, typical for a sedan, so take aggressive speed bumps slowly and you'll be fine. If your week involves a lot of very tight underground parking, a small hatchback is even easier to thread, but for most renters the Versa's size is no trouble.
A couple of Dubai rules worth flagging. Salik tolls are charged automatically as you pass the gates, and those are on you as the renter, the same as any RTA fines for speeding or parking. Seat belts are required in every seat, and a child seat is mandatory for under-fours, so factor that in if you're travelling with small kids.
Rent the Versa if you want a cheap, comfortable, fuel-light sedan for city life and airport runs, especially as a couple or a small family who'll use that big boot and easy back seat. It's one of the better-value economy sedans we hand over, and it'll cost you almost nothing to keep fuelled. Look elsewhere if you spend your week at highway speed and want real overtaking pull, if you want a higher driving position and the road presence of a crossover, or if you only ever drive solo in tight city parking, where a smaller hatchback is the smarter pick. For its job, the Versa is honest, roomy, and easy to live with.
