Nissan Patrol 2025 - start from 754 AED / day

The Nissan Patrol 2025 we rent in Dubai is the all-new generation, and it has quietly turned into a fast, properly luxurious SUV rather than the soft desert barge people remember. We deliver it across the city with a no-deposit option so a large hold doesn't sit on your card all week. Under the bonnet now sits a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 making 425 horsepower, paired with a 9-speed automatic, and it shifts this much metal to 100 km/h in around 6.7 seconds. That's the headline change. Our argument is that this Patrol earns its keep on the road as much as off it, so book it for the family that wants space, pace, and a genuinely plush cabin, not just dune-bashing.

How it drives now

The old Patrol was a comfortable cruiser that ran out of ideas under hard acceleration. This one doesn't. The twin-turbo V6 has real urgency, and overtaking on Sheikh Zayed Road or the E11 is a matter of squeezing the throttle, not planning two corners ahead. The 9-speed gearbox keeps it smooth and unflustered at the limit, and the cabin stays quiet and settled at 120 in a way that makes long airport runs feel short.

It's still a full-size 4WD with the clearance and the hardware for sand, but the character has shifted. You notice the refinement first and the off-road ability second, which is the opposite of how the previous Patrol felt.

Space for the family and the bags

Seven seats, and the first two rows are genuinely adult-sized for a long day out. The third row takes two adults for an airport hop or kids for the week. With all three rows up the boot holds around 468 litres, enough for soft bags and the day's shopping but not a full holiday's worth of hard cases. Fold the third row, which on this generation can be done at the touch of a button, and the load space opens right up to swallow a week of luggage for a family of five.

So pack around the people. Five travelling gives you a big square boot and room to spare. Seven travelling means duffels over hard shells, with a bag or two riding on laps from the airport.

Heat and cabin cooling

A big SUV parked in a Dubai mall car park in July is an oven on first opening, the same as anything else. The advantage here is the climate system and the vent layout. There are outlets feeding the second and third rows, not just the front, so once it's running everyone gets cold air rather than the back passengers slowly cooking. The cabin is large, so give it a minute to pull down, and crack the windows for thirty seconds before you set off to dump the worst of the trapped heat.

Fuel, parking and the rules

A 425 hp petrol V6 in a vehicle this size is not cheap to run, but it's better than the old 4.8 it replaces. Reckon on roughly 13 to 14 litres per 100 km in mixed Dubai driving, more if you spend a day in soft sand. The 97-litre tank still gives a comfortable cruising range, so a normal week of city and airport runs means filling up maybe twice.

On size, there's no hiding it. At over five metres long and more than two wide, this Patrol asks for patience in tight multi-storey bays and on Marina side streets, and you'll use the whole bay every time. The 275 mm of clearance means speed bumps and steep mall ramps never trouble it. Salik tolls and any RTA fines during the rental pass to you, so watch the limits on the open stretches where this car will sit well above them without feeling it. Child seats for under-fours are required and we can fit one on request.

Who should book it, and who shouldn't

Rent this Patrol if you want a full-size SUV that finally drives as well as it carries: a family of six or seven, an airport run with everyone and their luggage, and a cabin that feels like money well spent on the highway. With desert capability still built in, it covers the weekend dunes too. If your week is two adults doing dinners and the odd road trip, you're paying for size and power you won't use, and a mid-size SUV will be cheaper to fuel and far easier to park. Book the new Patrol for the full house and the long drives. Size down for everything lighter.
