One thing worth checking before you book. A share of 2022 Patrols in the region carry a 4.0-litre V6 instead of the V8, a decent engine on its own but a noticeably quieter one, without the pull described above. Space inside, and what the boot holds

The glass still lets the cabin bake regardless of paint, so give the front vents a couple of minutes on full before it feels right, and rely on the rear vents to keep the second and third rows fed rather than living on whatever air the front seats leave behind.

Book it if you're a large family or group with real luggage, or if the week mixes highway distance, seven seats and a run out toward the sand. Look elsewhere if it's one or two of you handling city errands with the odd airport run. The mileage allowance stops mattering at that point, since you'd need weeks to get near it, and what's left is a five-metre SUV to park and a big V8 to feed for a job a mid-size crossover does on less fuel and with far less fuss at the wheel.
