Nissan Armada 2023 - start from 531 AED / day

Three rows, a 5.6-litre V8 and four-wheel drive make the Nissan Armada 2023 one of the few rentals that genuinely moves a big group and their bags in a single vehicle, and we hand it over across Dubai with delivery to your door. This is a seven-seat, full-size SUV, the body-on-frame kind built to cover distance in comfort rather than dart around town. The decision this page helps you make is honest and a little blunt: the Armada is the right car for a real group with a real luggage load, and far too much vehicle for one or two people running errands. Get the match right and it's excellent value against pricier full-size rivals.

The size question, first

Start with the catch, because it's the thing that frustrates renters who pick this car for the wrong week. At over five metres long and just past two metres wide, the Armada fills a standard mall bay and leaves little door-swing room. Tight multi-storey ramps in Marina and older towers ask for patience and a careful eye on your mirrors. Speed bumps are a non-issue with the clearance, but narrow residential streets and valet-only car parks are where you'll wish for something smaller. If most of your week is solo errands and packed basements, this is the wrong tool and the fuel bill will rub it in.

Seats and luggage: what really fits

The seven-seat layout uses captain's chairs in the middle row, which gives you a clean walk-through to the third row and a back row that adults can actually use, not the token jump seats you get in smaller seven-seaters. Behind that third row there's still room for the school run plus a grocery shop without folding anything, and dropping the third row opens up proper moving-house space.

The honest version for an airport run: five or six passengers with a week of luggage is comfortable. Fill all seven seats and you also want seven big cases, and somebody's bag rides up front or on a lap, the same as any three-row SUV. Side steps make climbing in easy, and the wide rear doors help with child seats, which under-fours need by law here.

Highways, airports and the desert

Out on Sheikh Zayed Road the Armada is in its element. The V8 has easy mid-range pull, so overtaking a slow lorry on the E11 needs no drama, and at 120 it's quiet and stable. For a DXB or DWC pickup with a full crew and a stack of bags, few rentals make more sense.

The four-wheel drive and the generous clearance also make it genuinely capable off tarmac. A Hatta dam run or firm desert tracks are well within reach. Serious soft-sand dune driving in a heavy full-size SUV needs proper tyre deflation and some experience, but for the trips most renters actually take, it'll do more than you'll ask of it.

Living with it in the heat

Park a cabin this size in a July car park and it bakes. The Armada's saving grace is vent coverage: strong front vents plus outlets feeding the second and third rows, so the back doesn't roast while the front gets cold. From a 45-degree soak it takes a few minutes of fan-on-high to become pleasant, longer than a small hatch because there's far more air to cool, but once it's down it holds temperature well with bodies in every seat.

How often you'll refuel

No way around it: the V8 drinks. Expect around 14 to 15 litres per 100 km in mixed Dubai driving, worse stuck in Sheikh Zayed traffic with the AC fighting the heat. The near-98-litre tank gives a realistic combined range close to 670 km, so a tank lasts a busy week of city use, but you'll feel the fuel cost more than in any four-cylinder SUV. That's the trade for seven usable seats and a V8 that never strains. Salik tolls and any RTA fines during the rental are the renter's responsibility, so plan your gates and watch your speed.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the Armada 2023 if you've got a big family or a group, a real luggage load, and a mix of highway cruising, airport runs and the odd desert outing. For that brief it's comfortable, strong and good value against the pricier full-size crowd.

Skip it if you're one or two people doing city errands, where the size and the fuel bill aren't worth it and a mid-size SUV will park easier and cost far less to run. And if you want sharper road manners and a more modern cabin in the same full-size, three-row bracket, the Nissan Patrol is the natural step up. The Armada's appeal is plain and physical: space, power, seven seats that work, and a price that undercuts the badges above it.
