Nissan Altima 2023 - start from 217 AED / day

We hand over the Nissan Altima 2023 with the no-deposit option, so a recent-year midsize sedan goes out the door without a hold sitting on your card all week. The Altima is a comfortable four-door we rent across Dubai for small families, business trips, and the steady stream of airport runs that fill a calendar here. This generation brings the updated cabin tech and cleaner dash layout people expect from a current car, wrapped around a roomy back seat and a big boot. The question this page settles: is the Altima the right size and comfort for your week, or should you go smaller for parking or taller for the view?

Who the Altima actually suits

Think of it as the sensible middle. Two adults, two kids, and a week of school runs and mall trips fit without anyone arguing about legroom, and the back seat is one of the more generous in this class. For a couple doing east-coast day trips or back-and-forth airport runs, the comfort and the quiet on the motorway are the selling points, not outright pace. If your week is mostly solo city errands and tight Marina parking, a smaller sedan is easier to thread. Want the higher seating position and rougher-road confidence? An SUV is the better call. The Altima suits people who want space and a settled ride without paying for either in fuel.

How it drives, honestly

The 2.5-litre four makes 188 hp, plenty for keeping pace on Sheikh Zayed Road and for the overtaking real driving needs. The car cruises beautifully at highway speed, quiet and composed, and that's where it feels worth its money. The honest caveat is the CVT. Ask for a hard, sudden burst of acceleration and the engine drones up to a high note and holds it while the car catches up. In normal driving you barely notice it, but push it like a sports sedan and you will, because that's not what this car is. Smooth inputs suit it, and smooth is how most people drive in traffic anyway.

Boot, cases, and airport runs

The boot is the quiet strength here. At around 436 litres it swallows real luggage, so a couple of large suitcases plus soft bags go in flat, which is exactly what you want for a DXB or DWC pickup with a full family. Where a small hatch makes you play luggage Tetris, the Altima just takes it. For airport collections, four passengers and their cases ride without the boot lid fighting you, and that alone is why a lot of our airport bookings land on this car rather than something smaller.

Fuel, range, and how often you refuel

The Altima is easy on petrol for its size. Expect somewhere around 8 litres per 100km in mixed Dubai driving, more in pure stop-start city crawling, less on a steady motorway run. With a tank near 61 litres, that works out to roughly 700 km between fills, so a normal week of commuting and errands rarely needs more than one visit to the pump. For a midsize sedan that carries five in comfort, that is a reasonable trade.

Heat, AC, and the Dubai summer

In a Dubai July the AC is what you actually care about, and the Altima handles it well. The cabin is large, so a car baking in the sun takes a few minutes to pull right down, but the front vents are strong and get there without drama. Rear passengers have their own vents, which matters when kids are in the back on a 45-degree afternoon. Park in shade where you can for quicker recovery, but even off a hot open lot it cools properly once you're moving.

Parking, bumps, and city manners

At nearly five metres long the Altima is a proper midsize car, not a runabout, so multi-storey bays and tight U-turns need a bit more thought than a small hatch demands. The light steering and good visibility make it easy once you have the measure of it, and the rear camera takes the stress out of reversing into a snug Marina spot. Ground clearance sits around 138 mm, fine for mall ramps and speed bumps at sensible speed, though heavily loaded over a sharp bump you'll want to slow right down. This is a road car, happiest on tarmac.

A note on Salik and the rules

Salik tolls run on the renter's account, and any RTA fines during your rental pass to you, so keep an eye on speed limits and lane discipline on the E11. Children under four need a proper child seat, which we can arrange with the car. None of this is unusual for Dubai, but it is worth knowing before you set off.

The verdict

Rent the Altima 2023 if you want a comfortable, spacious, recent-year sedan for a small family, business travel, or repeat airport runs, and you value a big boot and quiet cruising over sharp handling. It's one of the easiest cars to live with for a week in Dubai. Go smaller, to a compact sedan or hatch, if your week is mostly solo city driving and tight parking with the back seat barely used. Step up to an SUV if you need the higher view, more clearance, or seven seats. For the family-and-luggage middle ground, the Altima is the smart, settled pick.
