Mitsubishi Attrage 2024 - start from 123 AED / day

If your Dubai week is a daily commute, a few mall runs and one airport drop, the Mitsubishi Attrage 2024 is about the least you can spend to cover all of it, and we'll rent it to you from age 18 when much of the market still wants you to be 21. Picture the typical renter here: one or two people, a fixed budget, and 250 km a day already included so the limit rarely comes up. That's exactly the brief this small sedan was built for. It's frugal, it's easy, and the boot is bigger than the price hints. The catch is a modest engine, and we'll tell you plainly where that shows.

What a week actually costs to run

This is where the Attrage makes its case. The 42-litre tank is small, but the car barely drinks. Mitsubishi quotes around 20 km per litre, which is a lab figure, so in real Dubai conditions, AC working hard against the heat and traffic stopping and starting, plan on roughly 14 to 16 km per litre. That still stretches a tank to somewhere around 550 to 650 km of mixed running. For most renters it means a single fill across a busy week, the odd DXB or DWC pickup included. Cheap petrol in a thirsty-free engine is the whole point: the running cost stays low even when the meter on everything else in this city does not.

The engine, told straight

Be clear-eyed about what 78 hp and a CVT give you. From rest to 100 km/h takes around 13 seconds, and the three-cylinder gets vocal when you push it hard. Around town and at a steady cruise it's relaxed and completely fine, and the CVT keeps the power delivery smooth with no gear-change jolt. The real weakness is the overtake at speed. Merging onto a fast E11 or pulling past a truck on Sheikh Zayed Road wants planning, because the urge isn't there the instant you ask for it. The Attrage will happily sit at 120 on the highway, it just doesn't sprint from 100 to 130. For a commuter or an airport shuttle that's no problem at all.

Boot space and the airport run

The 450-litre boot is the Attrage's standout, large for a sedan this small and cheap. Two big hard cases plus a couple of cabin bags slot in without folding the rear seats, so a two-person trip to the airport with a week's luggage is comfortable, not a Tetris game. Three large cases is the realistic limit if you also want the back seats clear. The honest catch is the opening. It's a normal sedan slot rather than a hatchback tailgate, so a single bulky item like a folded pram or a large box takes some angling. For stacked suitcases, though, there's genuinely more room back there than the rental price would lead you to expect.

Staying cool when it's 45 outside

A small cabin cools fast, and in a Dubai summer that's an advantage. Park the Attrage in open sun and its AC brings the interior down to comfortable within a few minutes of setting off, quicker than a larger car with more air to shift. Run the fan high at first and crack a window for a few seconds before you drive to vent the trapped heat. The front vents carry the load. There are no rear vents, so anyone in the back feels the heat a little longer on a hot day. For two people up front it's never an issue.

Parking, bumps and the local rules

At 4.25 metres with a tight 4.8-metre turning circle, the Attrage parks itself into spaces bigger sedans give up on. Multi-storey bays, Marina towers and constant city U-turns are all painless with the light steering and small footprint. The 170 mm of ground clearance clears speed bumps and mall ramps without the scrape that lower cars suffer, so you stop worrying about where to leave it. Two operational notes before you drive off: Salik tolls and any RTA fines during your rental are billed to you, and seat belts are mandatory in every seat, with a child seat required for under-fours.

Who should rent it, and who should look higher

Rent the Attrage 2024 if you want the cheapest practical way to move yourself and proper luggage around Dubai for a week, with airport runs in the mix, and you'd like to book from 18. For that brief, the low running cost, the easy parking and the surprisingly big boot are tough to beat. Look higher if you'll regularly carry four adults with their cases, spend most of your week overtaking at speed, or want a cabin that feels finished rather than purely functional. In that case a Honda City offers the same easy parking with more power and a nicer interior for not a lot more. Choose the Attrage for thrift and boot space, not for pace.
