Mitsubishi Attrage 2023 - start from 110 AED / day

The Mitsubishi Attrage 2023 turns Dubai's stop-start traffic into a non-event, because its CVT automatic has no gears to hunt through, just smooth, fuss-free pull from a standstill. We deliver it to your door across the city inside an hour or two, with a no-deposit plan that keeps your card free. That easy, light, automatic feel is the heart of what this car is: the cheapest sensible way to potter around town for a week without ever thinking about the drive. It sips fuel and parks itself into gaps bigger sedans drive past. What it asks in return is patience on the open road, and we'll be straight about that.

An automatic built for crawling traffic

The Attrage runs Mitsubishi's INVECS III CVT, and in this car that's a feature, not a compromise. A CVT has no fixed gears, so there's no jolt as it changes up or down, just a steady, smooth rise in speed. Crawling along Sheikh Zayed Road at rush hour or inching through a mall car park, that smoothness is genuinely restful. The 1.2-litre three-cylinder makes 76 hp, which is modest, but paired with the light body it's perfectly relaxed at Dubai's 60 to 80 km/h limits. For a renter whose week is errands, the school run and short hops, this is an easy, undemanding car to drive.

Fuel, and how rarely you'll stop

The 42-litre tank is small, but so is the appetite. Mitsubishi quotes around 20 km per litre, though that's a lab figure. In real Dubai driving, with the AC fighting the heat and traffic stopping and starting, plan on nearer 14 to 16 km per litre. Even then, a full tank covers roughly 550 to 650 km of mixed city running. For most renters that's one fill across a genuinely busy week, including the odd airport pickup. If your worry is how often you'll detour to a station, the Attrage answers it about as well as anything in its class.

The boot that punches above its price

Here's the Attrage's quiet trick: it's tiny and cheap, yet the boot holds 450 litres, which is large for an economy sedan. Two big hard cases plus a couple of cabin bags drop in without folding the rear seats, so a two-person run to DXB or DWC with a full week of luggage is comfortable rather than a packing puzzle. Three large cases is the realistic ceiling if you also want the back seats clear. The one honest catch is the shape of the opening. It's a conventional sedan slot, not a hatchback tailgate, so a single bulky item like a folded pram is fiddly to angle in. For stacked suitcases, there's more room back there than the price suggests.

Living with it in the heat

A small cabin is an advantage when it's 45 degrees outside, because there's less air to cool. Park the Attrage in the sun and its AC pulls the interior down to comfortable within a few minutes of driving, quicker than most larger cars manage. Run the fan high at the start and crack a window for a few seconds before you set off to dump the worst of the trapped heat. The front vents do the real work. There are no rear vents, so back-seat passengers feel the heat a beat longer on a summer drive. For two travellers up front it never comes up.

Parking, bumps and where it asks for patience

At 4.25 metres long with a tight 4.8-metre turning circle, this is an easy car to place. It slots into multi-storey bays and Marina parking that bigger sedans circle hunting a gap, and the light steering makes U-turns effortless. The 170 mm of clearance clears Dubai's speed bumps and mall ramps without the wince you get in lower cars. The weakness is the overtake. Merging onto a fast E11 or passing a truck on Sheikh Zayed Road needs planning, because with 76 hp the response isn't instant when you bury the throttle. Around town and at a steady cruise it's fine. A quick note on the rules: Salik tolls and any RTA fines during your rental are billed to you, and seat belts are required in every seat.

Who should rent it, and who should size up

Rent the Attrage 2023 if you want the easiest, cheapest automatic for a week of city driving with real luggage space behind you, and you'd rather not tie up a deposit. For errands, the school run and airport hops, the smooth CVT, the low fuel bill and the big boot are hard to beat at this price. Size up if you regularly carry four adults with their cases, spend your week overtaking on the highway, or want a cabin that feels finished rather than functional. A Honda City gives you the same easy parking with more power and a nicer interior for not much more. Pick the Attrage for thrift, smooth town driving and boot space, not for muscle.
