Need a small sedan in Dubai that just gets the job done without eating into your budget? We rent the Mitsubishi Attrage 2022 with a no-deposit option, so you can drive off without parking a chunk of cash against the car. The Attrage isn't trying to impress anyone. It's a dependable, frugal little sedan that sips fuel, swallows a surprising amount of luggage, and asks for very little in return. For daily commuting and quiet airport runs, that's the point. This page is about whether that trade, low running costs and proven reliability over plush refinement, is the right one for your week.
The appeal is simple. A 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine, a CVT automatic, and front-wheel drive add up to a car that costs almost nothing to feed and rarely surprises you. The Mitsubishi Attrage 2022 has been on Dubai roads in big numbers for years, which is part of why it's a safe rental. It's a known quantity, with nothing exotic enough to go wrong in a week, running the same proven setup Mitsubishi has used for a long time.
What you give up is refinement. The engine sounds busy when you push it, the plastics are hard, and the cabin is basic. If you want a car that feels special, this isn't it. If you want one that quietly does errands and the commute on a tiny fuel bill, it's hard to beat at this size.

This is where the Attrage earns its keep. With a 42-litre tank and real-world consumption around 5 litres per 100 km in mixed driving, you're looking at close to 800 km between fills. For most renters that means one visit to the pump across a full week, maybe none on short hops. Petrol is cheap here, so a small frugal engine turns into genuinely low daily costs.
Don't expect the claimed figures every time. Heavy AC use in summer and stop-start traffic push consumption up. Even then, the Attrage stays one of the cheapest cars you can rent in Dubai to run. If your week is mostly commuting between home and the office, you'll barely think about fuel.
The boot is the quiet strong point. At 450 litres, it's larger than the hatchbacks people often compare it against, and it takes a real load. Two large suitcases plus a couple of cabin bags fit without a fight, which makes the Attrage a sensible DXB or DWC pickup car for a small group flying in with proper luggage. A family of four heading out for the week can pack normally.
The rear seats fold if you need to carry something long, though the opening is a sedan boot lip rather than a wide hatch. For airport runs and weekly shops, there's more room here than the car's small footprint suggests.
A small cabin has one advantage in a Dubai summer. There's less air to cool, so the AC pulls a parked car down from oven temperatures faster than a big SUV cabin would. Park the Attrage in the sun at 45 degrees and the front vents get it comfortable within a few minutes of driving. The cooling is honest and effective for the front seats.
Be realistic about the back. There are no rear air vents, so passengers behind rely on airflow from the front, which is fine for short city trips and a bit slower to cool on a long drive with four people aboard. For two up front it's never an issue.
Around town the Attrage is easy. It's narrow, the steering is light, and it slots into tight Marina and mall bays without drama. The 170 mm of ground clearance clears speed bumps and ramps that catch lower cars, so you won't be wincing at every mall entrance. U-turns and multi-storey car parks are simple in something this compact.
On Sheikh Zayed Road and the E11 it's honest about its limits. The Attrage cruises happily at the speed limit and overtakes fine with a bit of planning, but with 78 hp it isn't quick. Floor it for a fast merge and the CVT drones while the car gathers pace at its own pace. It's a comfortable highway companion, not a fast one. Keep that in mind if a lot of your week is open-road overtaking.
A note on the rules: Salik tolls run to the renter's account, and any RTA fines during your rental pass to you, so watch the limits and the toll gates. Seatbelts are mandatory in every seat.
Rent the Attrage if you want the cheapest sensible automatic sedan for commuting, errands, and light airport duty, and you'd rather spend on your trip than on fuel and a deposit. For one or two people, or a small family with normal luggage, it does everything you need and costs almost nothing to run.
Look elsewhere if you regularly carry four adults on long highway stretches, want rear AC vents, or care about how a car feels to sit in. If the cabin and a bit of extra pace matter, step up to a Honda City. It's roomier, quieter, and stronger on the highway, the natural upgrade when the Attrage feels too basic. But if value and dependability are the brief, the Attrage answers it without fuss.
