Grey isn't the color you post from the hotel balcony, but it's the one that still looks rented-out clean after a week of Dubai driving. Road film, faint door dings from a tight mall bay, dust off Sheikh Zayed Road, all of it shows less on grey than it does on white or black, and on a budget car the paint was never meant to be the main event anyway. The Mitsubishi Attrage 2022 rents in Dubai as one of the cheapest sensible automatics on the fleet, and we get it to your door within one to two hours of booking. The color is a small mercy. The real question is whether the car underneath earns its keep for your week, and that's what the rest of this page settles.
Under the hood is a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, around 78 hp at 6,000 rpm and 100 Nm of torque, running through a CVT automatic to the front wheels. Zero to 100 km/h takes around 14 seconds, which tells you what the engineering was built for: economy, not urgency. Around town at 60 to 80 km/h the CVT is smooth and undramatic, exactly what you want threading through Marina traffic or a mall exit queue. Get onto Sheikh Zayed Road solo or two-up and it settles into 100 to 120 km/h without complaint. Load four people and their bags, then ask for a quick overtake, and the three-cylinder gets vocal while the CVT lets the revs climb before the car actually picks up speed. It isn't unsafe, just unhurried, and a driver who accepts that plans an overtake early instead of stabbing the pedal at the last second.

The boot is the pleasant surprise on a car this size, at 450 litres, beating several sedans that look roomier from the outside. Two large suitcases and a soft bag go in without any repacking on the curb, which covers an airport run or a week's shopping without drama. That's the real reason to pick this over a hatchback at similar money.
The back seat is more honest about the car's actual size. On a 2,550 mm wheelbase and just 1,670 mm wide, the Attrage is one of the narrower sedans you can rent here. Two adults sit fine in the back for a short crossing of town, but put a tall passenger behind a tall driver for anything longer and the knee room runs out. Three across the rear works for kids, not for three adults heading out for the evening.
That narrow body earns its keep in a parking bay. It slides into a tight tower slot or a cramped mall level where a wider sedan needs a second attempt, and 170 mm of ground clearance clears a speed bump or a steep basement ramp without a scrape. A grey car that picks up a light scuff doing that shows it far less than white does, one more reason the color suits a car parked hard, every day, for a week. It's front-wheel drive and built for tarmac, so keep it off sand and soft shoulders, even out toward the desert fringes.
Mitsubishi quotes near 20 km/L for the 1.2-litre engine, a lab-best figure you won't see once the AC is fighting Dubai heat. Real city driving lands closer to 14 to 15 km/L, still the strongest number in this class, and the 42-litre tank turns into roughly 600 km of range on a full tank of mixed driving. An ordinary week of commuting and errands rarely asks for more than one stop at a station.
The rental allows 250 km a day, and anything past that is billed at AED 0.5 per extra kilometre, a rate low enough that a longer errand day won't sting. Plan a genuine day trip out of the city and do the math first, because two or three of those in a week eat into the allowance faster than the fuel bill does. Salik tolls on your route and any RTA fine picked up during the rental pass to you, standard practice across the fleet. Drivers need to be 25 to take the keys on this one.
Heat is the other test every rental car has to pass here. Leave the Attrage in an open lot through a July afternoon and it comes back as an oven, same as anything else. Its small cabin actually helps: there's less air for the front vents to pull down, so it clears the worst of the heat faster than a bigger SUV manages. Keep your expectations in line with the price, though. This is single-zone manual air conditioning with no rear vents, so anyone in the back relies on air reaching them from the front. Park in shade or a basement level when you can, and the discomfort is mostly over within the first minute of climbing back in.
Book the Mitsubishi Attrage 2022 if you're driving solo or two-up around the city and want the cheapest sensible automatic on the lot, kept close to Dubai and its suburbs. Commuting, errands and an airport pickup all suit it well, that 450-litre boot means you rarely wish you'd sized up, and the fuel bill stays low the whole week. The grey paint isn't a reason to book it alone, but it's a small mercy on a car that's going to rack up curb scrapes and road dust doing exactly the job it's meant for.
Look elsewhere in two cases. Carrying four adults with full luggage puts real strain on the back seat and the 78 hp engine at once, so a mid-size sedan gives everyone more room and more push for overtaking. And if your week leans on long highway stretches rather than city streets, the modest power and the 250 km daily allowance work against you, so something with more mileage headroom suits the trip better. For a week spent mostly in the city, few cars here cost less to keep moving, and we can have this one at your door within a couple of hours.
