The Mitsubishi Attrage 2022 is about the cheapest automatic sedan you can rent in Dubai and actually keep on the road for next to nothing. Its whole case is fuel. The 1.2-litre engine sips close to 20 km per litre on paper and a real 14 to 15 in city traffic, so a week of errands barely touches the tank. We deliver it to your door, home or hotel, usually within one to two hours, and there's a no-deposit option so nothing sits frozen on your card. One honest caveat sets the tone for the whole page: the rental includes 1,000 km in total, not per day. This is a car for city life, not long highway runs.
Money is the reason to book this car, so start there. The 1.2-litre three-cylinder makes around 78 hp and 100 Nm, driving the front wheels through a CVT. Mitsubishi quotes close to 20 km per litre, but that is a best-case lab number. In real Dubai traffic, with the AC working against the heat, plan for nearer 14 to 15 km/L, which is still excellent for a rental. The 42-litre tank then stretches an ordinary week of city running to roughly one fill and a top-up, good for about 600 km before you go looking for a station.
The mileage terms are where you need to think about how you'll actually drive. You get 1,000 km for the whole rental, not per day, then AED 1 for every kilometre past that. For a week of commuting and errands at 100 to 140 km a day, that allowance usually holds. But it goes fast if you plan big trips: a single Dubai to Abu Dhabi round run is roughly 300 km, so two of those nearly spend the lot, and the extra-kilometre rate adds up quicker than the fuel saving. Keep it in and around the city and the numbers stay in your favour. Two costs also fall to you as the renter, Salik each time your route crosses a toll gate and any RTA fine during the rental. Drivers need to be 25 to take the keys.

The boot is the pleasant surprise. At 450 litres it holds more than several cars that look a size up, and it's the honest reason to take this over a hatchback at the same money. Two large suitcases and a soft bag drop in without any repacking on the kerb, which covers an airport pickup or a family loading up for the week.
The cabin is where the low price shows. This is a short car on a 2,550 mm wheelbase and one of the narrowest in its class at 1,670 mm wide. Two adults up front sit fine. In the back, two are comfortable for a hop across town, but a tall passenger behind a tall driver runs out of knee room on anything longer, and three across is a kids-only arrangement. So four-up works for a short trip with light bags, less so for four adults and a full boot on a longer run, when both the seat and the engine start to feel it. The flip side of that narrow body is parking. The Attrage tucks into a tight tower bay or a mall multi-storey slot with room to swing the doors, and 170 mm of ground clearance clears speed bumps and basement ramps without a scrape. It's a front-wheel-drive city sedan, so keep it on tarmac. No sand, no soft shoulders.
Around town at 60 to 80 the Attrage is light and easy, which is most of what a Dubai rental does. On Sheikh Zayed Road it will sit at 100 to 120 without fuss when it's you and maybe one passenger. Load four people and their bags, then ask for a quick overtake, and you meet the limit. The three-cylinder gets vocal, the CVT sends the revs up before the pace follows, and you learn to plan a move rather than stab the pedal. It's honest at highway speed, just not quick.
That same small cabin helps you in summer. A car left in a July lot turns into an oven within minutes, but there's less air in here to chill, so the front vents drag a 48-degree interior down to bearable quicker than any SUV manages. Set your expectations at the price, though. This is single-zone manual AC with no rear air vents, which is standard at this end of the market. Anyone in the back relies on the cold air reaching them from the front, so a full car in peak heat leans on the system harder. Park in shade or a basement when you can, and only the first minute back in the car is rough.
Rent the Mitsubishi Attrage 2022 if you drive mostly solo or two-up and you want the cheapest sensible automatic for a Dubai week, kept close to the city. For the commute, errands and the odd airport run, nothing keeps its fuel bill lower, and that big boot means you rarely wish you'd sized up on space.
Book something bigger in two cases. If you regularly carry four adults with full luggage, the back seat and the engine both feel the strain, so a mid-size sedan like an Elantra or an Emgrand gives everyone room and more push. And if your plan leans on long highway days, both the modest power and that 1,000 km allowance work against you, so step up to something roomier with a more generous mileage cap. Booked for what it's good at, frugal city driving on a budget, the Attrage is hard to beat, and we'll have one at your door inside a couple of hours.
