Book a wide, quiet family SUV for a Dubai week and the Mercedes GLE 450 2023 is the version most people actually want: the smooth inline-six luxury bus with the newest cabin, and we hand it over with the no-deposit option, so nothing gets blocked on your card while you drive it. We deliver it to your door in Dubai in an hour or two. This page is about one decision. If you need a calm, properly air-conditioned five-seater that swallows airport luggage and stays composed at speed, the GLE 450 earns its rate. If your week is four adults plus a third row of kids on the school run, read the seating part before you book.
The 2023 GLE 450 runs a 3.0-litre inline-six with a 48-volt EQ Boost mild-hybrid system, 367 hp plus a brief 22 hp electric shove, all of it through a nine-speed automatic and full-time 4MATIC all-wheel drive. It pulls cleanly from a standstill and never feels strained, which matters more in Dubai traffic than the 5.7-second 0-100 figure suggests. The mild-hybrid layer smooths out the stop-start crawl and takes the shudder out of pulling away at lights. This is the latest cabin generation too, with the big twin screens and newer MBUX, so it feels a step on from the older car if you've driven one.
| Spec | Mercedes GLE 450 2023 |

| Power | 367 hp, plus 22 hp EQ Boost |
| Torque | 500 Nm |
| Transmission | 9-speed automatic |
| Drive | 4MATIC all-wheel drive |
| 0-100 km/h | 5.7 sec |
| Top speed | 250 km/h |
| Fuel economy | 9.4 L/100km combined |
| Tank | 85 litres |
| Range | around 850 km on a tank |
| Dimensions (L x W x H) | 4924 x 1947 x 1797 mm |
| Ground clearance | 180-205 mm (air suspension) |
| Boot | 630 L, up to 2055 L seats folded |
| Seats | 5 (third row optional) |
Five adults sit in this car without anyone complaining, and the rear bench has its own air vents, which is the part that matters in July. The boot holds 630 litres, so a family of four going to the airport gets two or three large cases plus the soft bags in without folding anything. Drop the rear seats and you're at 2055 litres, enough for a flat-pack run or a week's worth of beach and desert gear.
The honest catch is the third row. The GLE 450 can be ordered as a seven-seater, but the third row is optional and this listing is the five-seat car. If you genuinely need seven seats most days, confirm with us before booking rather than assuming, or look at a dedicated seven-seater. For five people and luggage, this is the right size. For occasional sixth and seventh passengers who are children on short hops, it isn't.
Park any car in Dubai summer sun and the cabin climbs past 60 degrees inside. The GLE's saving grace is a big, well-sealed cabin with a strong climate system, so once the air is moving it gets genuinely cold front and back within a few minutes rather than blowing warm at your knees. Start it, let it run for two or three minutes before you load kids in, and it's comfortable by the time you're out of the car park. The leather is hot to the touch at first, true of every luxury SUV here and not a fault of this one. Rear passengers get their own vents, the detail families notice on a long airport transfer.
At 1947 mm wide before the mirrors, this is a broad car. In a Marina tower's multi-storey or a tight mall bay it takes a moment of care, but the 360-degree camera and sensors do the heavy lifting and you quickly stop worrying. Where the GLE earns its money is the air suspension. Speed bumps and steep mall ramps that scrape lesser SUVs are a non-event here, and you can raise the ride height on the worst ones. Ground clearance runs from 180 mm up to 205 mm raised, plenty for everything short of soft dune driving.
This is where the GLE 450 is at its best. On the E11 it sits at speed without drama, overtakes with one squeeze of the throttle, and stays quiet enough to talk normally at 120. Airport runs to DXB or out to DWC are the easy stuff. The 85-litre tank and a combined 9.4 L/100km give you roughly 850 km between fills. Real Dubai driving, with the AC fighting the heat, pushes that higher, so plan on filling up once over a normal week rather than every other day.
A few local facts that are on you, not us. Salik tolls are charged to the renter as you pass the gantries, and any RTA fines during your rental pass through to you. Seat belts are mandatory in every seat, and children under four need a proper child seat, which we can fit if you ask when booking.
Rent the GLE 450 2023 if you want the smooth six-cylinder luxury SUV with the newest cabin and you're carrying up to five people and real luggage in proper comfort and quiet. It's the sweet spot of the GLE range for most renters: faster and more relaxed than you'll ever need on these roads, and easier to live with than the harder-edged AMG version. Skip it if you need seven seats every day, in which case size into a true three-row SUV, or if you only ever drive short city errands solo, where you're paying for space and pace you won't use. For a family week of airport transfers, highway miles and the occasional desert-road approach, it's hard to do better.
