The badge on the door says Mercedes, but the hardware under it is the Brabus 900 build on the AMG G63 platform, a 4.5-litre twin-turbo V8 making 900 hp. This page is for one kind of renter: someone who wants the loudest statement on Sheikh Zayed Road for a few days and knows exactly what they're paying for. If you want practicality or a sensible fuel bill, read no further and rent a normal G-Wagon or a GLE.

What you're actually renting

This isn't a stock G-Class. Brabus takes the AMG G63 and rebuilds the engine to 4.5 litres, lifting output to 900 hp with torque held at 1,050 Nm to protect the nine-speed gearbox. The result moves a 2.5-tonne brick from 0 to 100 km/h in around 3.7 seconds, which is genuinely absurd for something shaped like a shipping container. Top speed is electronically limited to 280 km/h, not that you'll see it here.

Drive is permanent all-wheel drive with the G's three locking differentials still underneath, so the off-road bones are intact even if nobody rents this for the dunes. The cabin is full AMG luxury with Brabus trim on top, five proper seats, and a pair of widescreen displays running the controls.

How it drives on Dubai roads

On the E11 the G900 is theatre. Bury the throttle and the V8 noise alone justifies the rental, and the shove that follows rearranges your sense of what a tall SUV can do. Overtaking is instant. You think about a gap and you're already past it. That said, this is still a body-on-frame G-Class underneath, so it leans in fast corners and the steering is heavier and slower than any road car. It's built to go straight and make noise, and Dubai's long highways suit that perfectly.

Around town it's surprisingly easy to place despite the width, because the squared-off body and upright glass make the corners obvious. The high seat gives you a commanding view over everything. What it doesn't do is hide. People look, cameras come out, and you'll want to be relaxed about that before you book.

Fuel, and what a week costs to run

Be clear-eyed here. A 900 hp twin-turbo V8 in a heavy SUV drinks heavily, and there's no economy mode that changes the physics. Driven the way the car invites, expect single-digit kilometres per litre and frequent stops. The 100-litre tank helps by giving you a usable range between fills, but in city traffic with the AC fighting a 45-degree afternoon, you'll be at the pump more than you expect. Budget fuel as part of the experience, not an afterthought.

The included 250 km a day is plenty for cruising the city and the coast road. Push well past that on longer runs and the extra-kilometre charge of 12 AED per km applies, so plan the big drives.

Heat, the cabin, and parking the thing

Parked in summer sun, the G900's cabin gets brutally hot like any car here, but the AMG climate system is strong and the insulated cabin pulls down quickly once moving. Rear passengers get their own vents, so the back seats aren't an afterthought. Drop the windows for a few seconds when you get in to dump the trapped heat, then let the system work.

Parking needs thought. The G is wide and tall, so older multi-storey ramps and tight Marina basements want your attention, and you'll favour the open bays. The tall ride height and serious clearance mean speed bumps and steep mall entrances pass without a wince, which is one practical upside of all that off-road hardware. Mirrors and the camera setup help, but treat it as a big vehicle and you'll be fine.

A few Dubai basics

Salik tolls run on your rental account, so every gantry is billed to you, and any RTA fine during the hire passes to you as well. In a car this fast the speed climbs without you noticing, so watch the limits on the E311 and E11. Seat belts are mandatory in every seat, and a child seat is required for under-fours, which we can fit on request.

Rent the G900 if you want a few days of pure presence and savage straight-line pace, you'll enjoy the attention, and the fuel bill doesn't change your mind. For a milestone weekend, a photo trip, or a renter who simply wants the most dramatic SUV we keep, it delivers exactly that and nothing it doesn't promise.

Skip it if you want value, comfort over corners, or quiet. A standard G63 gives you most of the look for less, a GLE gives you the refinement and a far smaller fuel bill, and a GLS adds the seats this one doesn't have. The G900 is a treat, not a sensible choice, and it's honest about that.
