Book it for a week and the same car has to answer for itself every single day, and it mostly does. There are five real seats, upright and roomy front and back, and a driving position tall enough to see over most traffic, which takes some of the nerve out of placing something this wide. The boot holds 480 litres behind the rear seats, enough for a DXB pickup with two large cases and a soft bag squeezed on top. The tailgate swings out sideways with the spare wheel bolted to it rather than lifting up, so leave room to park where it can open fully.

Width across the mirrors runs close to 2.2 metres, so a Marina tower ramp or an older mall's multi-storey means folding them in and taking your time rather than trusting the gap. The flat, square sides at least make the corners easy to read. Ground clearance of 241 mm turns speed bumps and steep ramp entrances into a non-event, no scraping, no crawling over at an angle. The step-in is the thing first-time renters underestimate: even with the running boards, getting aboard is a genuine climb, worth planning for if you're lifting a child into the back or arriving somewhere in heels. The running cost is the part that separates the two bookings. Over one night it barely registers. Over a week it's the number to plan around. The 100-litre tank takes premium, and while the official combined figure sits near 14.7 litres per 100 km, real Dubai city driving with the AC working hard pushes that into the high teens, so expect regular stops if you're keeping it all week. The daily allowance is 250 kilometres, then it's AED 0.5 for every kilometre beyond that, and Salik tolls plus any RTA fines during the rental come back to you as the renter. Because this is a luxury booking, a refundable deposit applies, and you need to be at least 25 to take the keys, older than the minimum age on most of the SUVs we carry.

Book the G 63 AMG 2022 for one night without a second thought. The V8, the noise and the shape do exactly what you're paying for, and the running cost never has time to matter. Booking it for a full week works too, but go in with eyes open about the fuel bill, the width and the firm ride, and decide that's a fair trade for the reaction it gets every time you park.
