Mercedes G63 2025 - start from 2,221 AED / day

Every other Mercedes G63 2025 that leaves our Dubai yard rolls out in black. This one is beige, a shade you almost never see in a valet line of blacked-out G-Wagons, and it changes the first impression without changing a single bolt underneath. It is still the same hand-built V8, the same width, the same mileage policy every renter has to plan around. We get this Mercedes G63 2025 to your door, hotel or the airport, inside one to two hours of booking. What this page settles is whether the car underneath the unusual paint is worth booking for your week, or whether you would be better off elsewhere.

A hand-built V8 that doesn't care what colour it's wearing

Strip the beige away and you find the same drivetrain every W463A G63 has run since the body launched in 2019: a 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 built and signed by a single AMG technician, sending 585 hp and 850 Nm through a nine-speed automatic to all four wheels. What is new for 2025 is a 48-volt starter-generator wired into the driveline. It chips in up to 20 hp and 200 Nm for a second or two off idle, closing the gap before the turbos spool up, though the peak numbers barely move. Zero to 100 km/h drops from 4.5 seconds to 4.4, a difference you feel more in how quickly the car answers a light throttle than in any lap time. Top speed stays limited to 220 km/h, or 240 with the AMG Driver's Package.

None of that is really why people book this car. It is the noise on cold start and the hard, low pull on Sheikh Zayed Road when you bury the throttle that gets a G63 booked over almost anything else in the fleet. Be honest about the rest of the drive too. Steering is light and a touch slow even with the newer electric assist, the tall body leans through bends, and past 120 km/h the flat nose visibly works against a crosswind. Underneath sits genuine off-road hardware, three locking differentials and a low-range gearbox, which is more than any Dubai rental week will ever ask of it. Nobody points a hired G63 at a dune, and this beige one will not be the first.

Five seats, one boot, and a width no Dubai bay was drawn for

Day to day, the G63 copes better than its shape suggests it should. Five upright seats give real head and shoulder room front and back, and the tall square glass gives a clearer view over traffic than the width would lead you to expect. The boot holds 480 litres behind the rear seats, which is enough for one large case and a couple of soft bags off an airport run, not a full family's luggage for a fortnight away. The tailgate swings out sideways with the spare wheel bolted to it rather than lifting up, so leave real clearance behind the car before you back into a spot.

Width is the number that actually asks for care. The body itself measures under two metres, but across the mirrors you are closer to 2.19 metres, wider than several older Marina and mall multi-storeys were designed for. Fold the mirrors in and take the ramp slowly rather than trusting the gap by eye, though the flat sides at least make the corners easy to read. Ground clearance of 241 mm shrugs off speed bumps and steep driveway entries without a scrape. The step-in height catches most first-timers off guard. Running boards help, but getting aboard is a genuine climb rather than a step, worth planning for with a small child or if you are arriving somewhere in heels.

Parked through a Dubai afternoon, the beige paint at least gives some of the sun back rather than swallowing it the way the fleet's black cars do, but the tall glasshouse cabin still bakes regardless of what colour sits on the panels. The seats and wheel will be warm to the touch when you climb back in. What saves it is a climate system that is genuinely strong front and rear, with real vents feeding the second row, and it pulls the cabin down to comfortable within a couple of minutes on the move.

The AED 10 problem, and the trip that triggers it

Two hundred and fifty kilometres a day covers a normal week of hotel, mall and restaurant driving with room to spare, and most renters never come close to using it. It gets tight the moment you plan a proper day out. A Hatta loop, or a run toward Ras Al Khaimah and back, can eat most of that allowance on its own, and stacking a morning of ordinary city driving onto the same day pushes you over the line. Every kilometre past the cap is billed at AED 10, among the steepest overage rates in the fleet, so drifting 30 or 40 km over adds AED 300 to 400 to the bill without much warning. If a road trip is even a possibility, call the desk about a bigger allowance before you leave, not after the odometer tells you the story.

Fuel is the other honest cost. The 100 litre tank takes premium, and while the official combined figure sits near 14.7 litres per 100 km, real Dubai traffic with the AC working hard pushes that into the high teens, so plan on filling up every couple of days rather than once a week. Salik tolls and any RTA fines from the rental period land on your account as the renter, the same as on any car here. Because this is a luxury booking, a refundable deposit applies rather than a no-deposit option, and you need to be at least 21 to take the keys.

The renter this beige G63 fits, and the one it doesn't

Book this one if presence is the actual point of the week. The hand-built V8, the noise on cold start, and a colour nobody else in the valet line is wearing all add up to a car built to be noticed outside a hotel, a wedding venue or a Friday brunch. Kept to city driving and the odd airport run, the 250 km daily allowance is generous rather than restrictive.

Look elsewhere if the plan involves stacking long days on the road. The AED 10 overage rate turns a single ambitious drive into real money if you have not asked about a bigger allowance first, and the fuel bill on a car this thirsty adds up fast regardless of paint. If comfort, luggage room and lower running cost matter more than the arrival, a Mercedes GLS or a Range Rover rides softer, drinks less and carries more without folding mirrors at every ramp. The G63 was never built to be the sensible choice, in beige or in black. Book it for what it does better than anything else in the class, plan the mileage honestly, and it earns its keep.
