Mazda 6 2023 - start from 156 AED / day

The Mazda 6 2023 comes with 250 km a day built into the rate, which is the spec that quietly decides a lot of rentals here. Rack up Marina-to-DXB runs, a day out to Hatta and the usual errands across a week and you stay inside the allowance without watching the odometer. We deliver it anywhere in Dubai within one to two hours, and we'll rent to drivers from 18 where most desks make you wait until 21. Our argument for this car is about the long-distance side of a Dubai week: among economy sedans at this rate, the 6 is the one that makes highway miles genuinely pleasant rather than something to endure. It seats four adults in comfort and carries the luggage, but the reason to pick it is how it covers ground.

Engine and the way it covers distance

The 2.5-litre Skyactiv-G petrol makes 190 hp through a six-speed automatic, driving the front wheels. On paper that's ordinary midsize output. On Sheikh Zayed Road it's more than enough, with a flexible mid-range that lets you pull past a slow lorry at 120 without dropping two gears and waiting. The gearbox is a conventional torque-converter automatic, so it's smooth in traffic and never hunts the way some rivals do. What lifts the 6 above the class is the chassis tune. It tracks dead straight on the E11, stays composed through a fast interchange, and the steering tells you what the front tyres are doing. For a renter doing real motorway distance in a week, that composure is worth more than another 30 horsepower.

Fuel and how far a tank gets you

The 62-litre tank is the number that matters once you're covering distance. The Skyactiv engine is efficient for its size, so a full tank stretches a long way on a steady highway run. Mazda quotes a theoretical range near 880 km, and while you won't see that in stop-and-go Dubai traffic, it tells you the 6 isn't thirsty. In heavy city driving with the AC working hard, expect somewhere in the region of 9 to 11 litres per 100 km. A week of mixed commuting plus a couple of airport trips means filling up once, maybe twice if you're piling on motorway miles. For the road-trip use case this car suits, that's exactly what you want.

Boot and who you can carry

It's a five-seater built around four adults in real comfort, and the back bench has the leg and shoulder room grown-ups actually need on a longer leg. The boot is honest sedan size: one large 23 kg case plus a medium travel bag is a comfortable load, and the seats fold for anything longer. A couple flying in for the week, or a small family with mixed bags, won't run short. Where it tightens is four adults each with a full-size hard case from the airport, which is the limit of any sedan this shape rather than a fault of the 6. Pack to that reality and you're fine.

Parking, heat and the Dubai basics

At 4865 mm this is a long car, so the tighter bays in older multi-storey car parks want a deliberate line and the reversing camera. The 125 mm of ground clearance handles Dubai speed bumps and mall ramps without complaint, though a steep loaded ramp deserves a slow approach since the 6 sits low. Cabin cooling is the test every car here has to pass. Parked in summer sun the interior bakes, but the AC pulls it back quickly on the move, the front vents hit hard, and rear passengers get their own outlets so the back doesn't stay hot on the school run. As with any rental in Dubai, Salik tolls and any RTA fines during your hire are charged to you, so keep an eye on the speed cameras on the E11. Under-fours need a child seat, which we'll fit on request.

Who should rent it

Rent the Mazda 6 2023 if your week involves real distance and you want a sedan that makes the highway part easy: a quiet, composed cruiser that still seats four and carries the bags, at an economy rate. For airport transfers, regular motorway runs and the odd trip out of town, it's the standout pick in its class.

Skip it if your driving is all short solo city hops, where a smaller car is cheaper to rent and easier to park, or if you need ride height for rough tracks toward the desert, which calls for a crossover. For the renter who's going to put kilometres on the clock and wants those kilometres to feel good, this is the one we'd hand you the keys to.
