Heat, the cabin and a 45-degree car park

The cabin is large, so on a July afternoon it takes a minute or two of strong airflow before it's genuinely comfortable. The front vents move a lot of air, rear passengers get their own vents, and the seats are cooled, which matters far more than people expect when you slide onto leather that's been baking in the sun. For four or five people on airport runs, nobody in the back is left sweating, and the cabin holds an even temperature even when it's pushing the high 40s outside.

If you're parking exclusively in cramped older buildings, a smaller SUV is genuinely easier to live with.

It's heavy, so very soft sand still demands skill and proper recovery gear, and at this width you pick your line carefully on narrow wadi tracks. For a genuine off-road weekend, few luxury rentals match it.

The renter's small print
