Slide into the latest Range Rover and the first thing you notice is how little it asks of you. We rent the Land Rover Range Rover 2024 across Dubai, and you settle the payment when we hand it over, by card, cash, or wallet, whatever suits you on the day. The current car is the newest generation of the full-size luxury flagship, and its whole character is calm. A quiet, leather-lined cabin, a commanding seat, a hush on the move that most SUVs never reach. This page is about whether that calm is what you actually want for your week here, or whether your money buys more elsewhere.
The new Range Rover dropped most of the buttons and let the cabin breathe. Clean surfaces, a floating central screen, real leather and metal where the hand falls. It is the kind of interior that makes a long Sheikh Zayed Road run feel like nothing, and it is genuinely quiet inside, road and wind noise pushed far into the background. People arriving at a hotel or a meeting tend to rent this for exactly that reason. It looks composed pulling up, and it makes the person stepping out look composed too.
Rear passengers get the better half of the deal in the long-wheelbase car. Acres of legroom, reclining outer seats on the higher trims, and proper rear vents that matter in this climate. If you are renting to be driven, or to carry guests in comfort, sit in the back first and you'll understand the price.

The table is the reference. What follows is where those numbers actually matter.
Pick the V8 P530 and you have 523 hp on tap, 0 to 100 in about 4.6 seconds, and a calm that never breaks no matter how hard you press. It does not feel fast in a dramatic sense. It feels effortless, which is a different thing. Overtaking a truck on the E11 is a small squeeze of the throttle and you're past.
The P400 inline-six with mild hybrid is the lighter, thriftier choice, still 395 hp, still quick enough for anything Dubai throws at it. If you don't need the V8's reserve, the six is the sensible pick and a little easier on fuel. Either way, this is comfort and presence over outright thrill. If you want a luxury SUV that wants to be hustled through corners, look at a Porsche Cayenne or a sportier rival instead. The Range Rover would rather waft.
Be honest with yourself before you book. A V8 this size moving more than two and a half tonnes is not economical. In real Dubai conditions, traffic, AC running flat out, you'll see somewhere around 6 to 9 km/L. The 90-litre tank gives you a usable range, but on a week of city and airport runs you will be visiting the pump more than once. The P400 stretches things a bit further, though no version of this car is light on fuel. Factor a fuel budget in and you won't be surprised.
The AC pulls a cabin baked at 45C down fast, and the rear vents keep passengers behind you comfortable rather than just the front two seats. That gap between front-only and full cabin cooling is what separates a real luxury SUV from a badge, and the Range Rover delivers the real version.
Size is the honest caveat. At over five metres long, this is a big car for a Marina tower bay or a tight mall ramp. The cameras and sensors are excellent and help enormously, but you still need to think about where you park. The air suspension is a quiet hero on speed bumps and steep ramp lips, lifting the nose so you don't scrape on entry. Reverse into bays where you can; threading this through a packed multi-storey takes patience.
A note on the rules that fall to you. Salik tolls are charged to the renter, and any RTA fine during the rental passes to you as well. Seatbelts are required in every seat, and children under four need a proper child seat. None of that is unusual, but it's yours to handle.
Boot space is genuinely generous. Several large cases and soft bags load easily for a DXB or DWC airport run with a full car, and the seven-seat versions trade some of that boot for the third row, so choose by whether you're carrying people or luggage.
The desert ability is real, not marketing. Raise the air suspension to 295 mm, let the AWD and terrain modes do their work, and the Range Rover handles a Hatta trail or soft sand far better than its plush cabin suggests. Most renters never use it, but if a desert camp or a mountain drive is on your week, this car is properly equipped for it, and it'll do it in cool, quiet comfort.
Rent the Range Rover 2024 if presence and calm are the point: hotel arrivals, hosting guests, long highway days, and the option of real off-road capability without giving up luxury. Take the V8 P530 if you want the effortless reserve and don't mind feeding it; take the P400 six if you want most of the serenity for a little less at the pump.
Skip it if your week is mostly tight city parking and short errands, where its length and thirst become a daily tax. A smaller luxury SUV or a sedan will cost you less and frustrate you less. And if you actually want to drive hard rather than glide, this isn't your car. For everyone who wants to arrive unbothered and unhurried, it's close to the best in Dubai.
