Land Rover Defender 2025 - start from 813 AED / day

Eight seats and a Hatta trail in the same week is a tall order, and the Land Rover Defender 2025 in long 130 form is one of the few rentals in Dubai that genuinely manages both. We deliver it to your door in one to two hours, and you can pay however suits you on the day, from cards and bank transfer to Apple Pay, Google Pay or crypto. This is the stretched eight-seat body, so the decision this page helps you make isn't whether the Defender is capable, it plainly is, but whether you need this much of it. If your group is seven or eight people, it earns every centimetre. If it's two of you chasing dunes, you're paying for length you won't use.

The case for the long body: people and gear

The 130's whole point is the third row that adults can actually sit in, which sets it apart from the cramped jump seats in most three-row SUVs. Seven travel comfortably, and the optional eighth seat takes a child or a shorter passenger without anyone feeling boxed in. For a family landing at DXB, or a group heading to a desert camp together, that real third row is the reason to book it over a shorter Defender.

Luggage is where you plan ahead. With all three rows up the space behind the back seats holds a couple of carry-on bags and not much more, so a full eight-up airport run means bags ride on laps or you fold a seat. Drop the third row and you free up room for several large suitcases. Fold both rear rows and it turns into a van-sized load bay that handles camping kit, a big shop or a week's gear for a crowd.

Capability that survives the extra length

Stretching the body hasn't cost the Defender its off-road hardware. The 130 keeps permanent all-wheel drive, low range and air suspension that lifts ground clearance to 293 mm, with a wading depth around 900 mm that copes with a flooded wadi after winter rain. Terrain Response has a proper sand mode, so once you drop tyre pressures a Hatta track or a firm desert run is well within reach rather than a brochure promise.

The honest caveat is what the length changes. The 130 is over 5.3 metres, so on tight, broken climbs and between close rocks it needs more care than the short 90, and the longer overhang behind the rear wheels is the bit to watch on steep crests. On open desert tracks and graded gravel it's superbly composed. For technical dune driving with a big group aboard, go with someone who reads sand and carries recovery gear.

Heat and cooling a long cabin

Park anything in Dubai's July sun and it bakes, and a cabin this large takes a genuine effort to bring back down. The Defender's climate system is up to it. The front vents pull hard, and crucially there are outlets that reach the second and third rows, so passengers in the back aren't left sweating while the front cools first. Give it a few minutes moving on an afternoon pickup and the whole cabin evens out, which is the test that matters when you've got seven or eight people aboard.

Living with the size on Dubai roads and ramps

This is the part to be clear-eyed about. At over 5.3 metres long and two metres wide, the 130 is a lot of car for a Marina basement or an older multi-storey. Tight bays, valet ramps and U-turns all want patience and the cameras, and the long tail means you judge the back end carefully when reversing into a space. On Sheikh Zayed Road none of that matters: it cruises quietly and pulls cleanly for overtakes, and the high seating gives a commanding view of the traffic. The air suspension makes speed bumps and steep mall ramps a non-event. A few Dubai basics before you go: Salik tolls and any RTA fines during the rental pass to you, and an under-four needs a child seat we can fit on request. The car rents from 18, with 250 km included a day and extra kilometres at 3 AED each.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the Defender 130 2025 if your group really is seven or eight people, you want a third row adults can use, and your week mixes road miles with a desert or Hatta plan where the off-road kit earns its place. For a big family or a group trip that needs space and capability in one booking, little else on the fleet does both.

Skip it if there are only two or three of you. The short Defender 90 or 110 gives you the same hardware in a body that's easier to park and thread off-road, and it costs less to feed. If you'll never leave the tarmac, a softer three-row crossover will carry the same people for far less fuel and tuck into city parking without the wrestling. Book the 130 when you'll genuinely fill it and use it.
