Land Rover Defender 2024 - start from 708 AED / day

You can rent this Land Rover Defender 2024 in Dubai from the age of 18, while most of the market still makes you wait until 21, and we'll have one at your door inside one to two hours. This listing is the 110 with the 3.0-litre inline-six mild-hybrid petrol, the sensible heart of the Defender range at 395 hp through permanent all-wheel drive. The thing worth deciding before you book is whether you need the drama of the V8 at all. For a family week that mixes city errands, the airport and a weekend in the dunes, the inline-six is the one we'd put you in, and this page explains why.

Why the inline-six is the one to take

The mild-hybrid six is the version that makes daily sense. It runs an eight-speed automatic, the 48-volt system smooths the stop-start crawl through town, and you still get a car that gets to highway speed without fuss. On Sheikh Zayed Road it sits at the limit relaxed, and overtaking on a run to the east coast needs no planning.

What you give up against the V8 is launch theatre and noise, not real ability. The six pulls cleanly, uses the same Terrain Response sand setting, and costs noticeably less to fill. Unless the V8's sound is the reason you want a Defender, the six is the smarter rent for almost everyone.

Fuel, range and the airport run

A 90-litre tank is large, and the inline-six is the engine that lets you use it sensibly. Expect somewhere around 12 litres per 100 km in normal Dubai running, more in heavy traffic with the AC working, which works out to roughly 7 to 9 km per litre in the city. That gives a real-world range comfortably into several hundred kilometres on a fill.

For a week of school runs, mall trips and a couple of airport pickups at DXB or DWC, you'll refuel once, maybe twice. That's a real gap from the V8, which wants a station every two or three days. If running cost shapes your booking at all, this is the side of the range to be on.

Seats, luggage and what actually fits

Seven seats is the headline, but read it the way we do at the desk. With all three rows up, boot space is genuinely tight, fine for a couple of cabin bags and the weekly shop rather than a luggage haul. Drop the third row and you have a large, square load bay that swallows three big suitcases plus the soft bags. Five up with the rear row stowed is the sweet spot for a Dubai family.

So if you're four adults heading to the airport with full cases, fold row three and you're sorted. If you genuinely need all seven seats filled and luggage at the same time, you'll be stacking bags on laps or adding a roof box, so plan around that before you book.

Desert, clearance and Dubai roads

This is where the Defender pulls clear of the soft crossovers wearing rugged clothes. The air suspension lifts ground clearance toward 292 mm in off-road height, the all-wheel drive is permanent with a twin-speed transfer box, and the sand setting on Terrain Response manages traction for you once you drop the pressures. A Hatta track, a desert camp or the gravel runs past Al Qudra are all within its reach, not just its looks.

The same clearance makes city life easy in one respect: speed bumps, mall ramps and raised kerbs are a non-event. Size is the trade-off. At over five metres long and two wide, the 110 needs thought in tight Marina basements, though the cameras and high seating take most of the stress out of it.

Heat and the rules to know

Park it in open July sun and the cabin gets brutally hot. The climate system brings it back down within a few minutes of moving, and rear passengers get their own vents, which spreads cold air through a long cabin with kids in the back two rows.

A few operating notes worth stating plainly. Salik tolls and any RTA fines during your rental pass to you, seat belts are mandatory in every row, and a child under four needs a proper seat we can fit on request. We also offer a no-deposit plan for a small fee if you'd rather not park a hold on your card, and free cancellation up to 24 hours before delivery.

Who should rent it, and who shouldn't

Rent the inline-six Defender 110 if your Dubai week genuinely mixes city driving with real desert or Hatta plans, and you want one premium car that does both without the V8's fuel bill. A family of five with weekend ambitions is the exact brief, and the rent-from-18 option makes it reachable for younger drivers who'd be turned away elsewhere.

Skip it if you'll never leave tarmac and park only in tight city basements. In that case a softer full-size crossover is cheaper to run and easier to thread through a packed garage. The Defender earns its keep when you use what it's built for, and the inline-six is the version that lets you do that without overpaying at the pump.
