Three rows, a long week of school runs, mall trips and an airport pickup with the whole family, and a cabin that feels a class above what you paid for it. That's the brief the Kia Telluride 2024 answers, and we deliver one to your door in Dubai in about one to two hours. The latest version is the one to book if you want the freshest interior and the full kit list, because this is where the Telluride stops feeling like a sensible family hauler and starts feeling like a value flagship. The argument here is simple: it's a near-luxury seven-seater with a third row people can actually sit in, priced and sized to take on far costlier German SUVs.
The 2024 Telluride is a full-size three-row SUV with a 3.8-litre V6, all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic. That's 291 horsepower, plenty for moving seven people and their bags up Sheikh Zayed Road without the engine sounding strained. What sets this year apart from the older car is the cabin. The materials, the wide twin screens and the seat comfort all read as a step up, and that's the reason to pick the 2024 over an earlier Telluride if both are on the lot.
| Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Engine | 3.8L V6 petrol |
| Transmission | 8-speed automatic |
| Drivetrain | All-wheel drive |
| Seats | 7 |
| Power | 291 hp |
| Fuel tank | 71 litres (18.8 gal) |
| Fuel economy | ~11.8 L/100km combined |
| Dimensions (L x W x H) | 5,000 x 1,989 x 1,791 mm |
| Ground clearance | 203 mm |
This is the question that sells the Telluride, so be honest about the headcount. Two adults up front, two or three kids in the middle, and the third row up for two more works comfortably for a week of getting around. That back row is genuinely usable for teenagers and adults on shorter hops, not the token bench some rivals fit, which is the whole point of choosing this car over a five-seat crossover.
The trade-off is luggage. With all three rows up, boot space is tight: a couple of soft bags or a single medium case, not a family's worth of hard shells. Fold the third row and the space opens right up, easily taking the cases for four people. So if it's five of you flying into Dubai with a full set of suitcases, keep that back row down and seat five, not seven.
A cabin this size left in a mall car park at 45 degrees gets brutally hot, and that's the real test for any three-row SUV here. The Telluride handles it better than most because vents feed all three rows, so the kids in the back aren't waiting ten minutes for cool air. The AC pulls a parked cabin down to bearable within a few minutes of driving, and it holds the temperature along the whole length of the car once you're moving. Crack the windows for the first thirty seconds to dump the worst of the heat and the system catches up fast.
At five metres long and nearly two metres wide, this is a big vehicle to park. In a tight Marina multi-storey or a packed mall bay you'll be using the cameras and sensors properly, and some U-turns need a second thought. Speed bumps and mall ramps are a non-issue thanks to the 203 mm of clearance. On the open road it's in its element: cruising the E11 it's quiet and stable, overtaking is effortless with the V6, and an airport run to DXB or DWC with a full load feels relaxed rather than busy.
The AWD is reassuring on the rare wet day and fine for a graded desert track or a beach approach, but treat this as a road-biased family SUV, not a serious off-roader. It's happiest on tarmac.
A thirsty V6 and the weight of a full-size SUV mean you'll watch the gauge. Expect around 11.8 litres per 100 km on a mixed week, more like 13 in heavy city stop-start. The 71-litre tank still gives a comfortable 550 to 600 km between fills, so on a normal week of school runs and errands you're refuelling once or twice, not every other day. Fuel is cheap here, but a vehicle this size is never going to sip.
A couple of the local rules worth flagging: Salik tolls and any RTA fines run on the rental and pass to you, seat belts are required in every row, and children under four need a proper child seat. With a car built around the back seats, that last one usually matters here.
Rent the Telluride 2024 if you're a family of five to seven who wants space, a premium-feeling cabin and a third row that actually earns its keep, all for a fraction of what a comparable German seven-seater costs. It's the smart value play in this class. If you're two adults doing city errands and the odd airport run, you're paying for size and fuel you won't use, and a five-seat crossover is the cleaner call. And if you need seven seats plus a full luggage load every single trip, look one size up to a full-size SUV. For everyone in between, this is one of the best-judged family rentals in Dubai right now, and we'll have it at your door within the hour.
