Picture a week of school drop-offs, a daily commute down Sheikh Zayed Road, and one airport run, all on the tightest possible budget. That's the brief the Kia Pegas 2025 was built for, and it's the car we bring to your door in Dubai when someone wants a no-fuss automatic sedan without a deposit tying up their card. It's a 1.4-litre five-seat economy sedan, the cheapest automatic in most of our fleet, and the latest year is simply the freshest example of a formula Kia hasn't tried to reinvent. The argument of this page is honest: rent it for cheap, dependable city transport, and look elsewhere the moment your week is built around highway speed or a premium cabin.
Start with the part that decides whether this car suits you. The 95 hp goes through a four-speed automatic, a gearbox tuned for economy rather than response, and that shapes the whole experience. In town it's genuinely easy: gentle throttle, smooth enough changes, and a small footprint that makes parking and U-turns simple. Ask more of it and the limits show. Merging onto the E11 at speed wrings out everything the engine has, and an overtake needs a clear gap and a bit of planning. It holds 120 comfortably but climbs there slowly, and above 100 the cabin gets noisier. As a commuter it's exactly enough. As a long-haul cruiser it isn't, and no model year changes that.

Summer is the one place a small sedan beats a big SUV, and the Pegas uses that. Less cabin air means the AC pulls a sun-baked interior down to comfortable faster, and the front vents are strong enough to do it quickly. The catch is the back: there are no rear vents, so passengers behind you on a long hot drive feel it more than those up front. For two people commuting it's a non-issue, and the cabin holds a cool temperature once it's down. Vent the windows for the first half-minute after a mall-lot bake and you'll be comfortable before you reach the exit ramp.
The small engine and 43-litre tank keep refills infrequent. Kia's figure sits around 17 km/L, and in realistic mixed Dubai driving you'll land in the mid-teens once the AC runs hard in traffic. Even at the cautious end, a normal commuting week often goes by on a single tank. It takes regular 91 or 95 petrol, so the running cost stays near the floor of what a rental can be here. One practical note from this listing: the daily allowance is 250 km, so if your week involves a lot of long runs, keep half an eye on the distance rather than the pump.
For a cheap, compact sedan the Pegas hides a useful boot. The 475 litres take two large suitcases flat with cabin bags on top, which is enough for a couple doing a DXB pickup and a week's stay without luggage Tetris on the kerb. At 4.3 metres long with light steering, it slots into the tight bays at the Marina and the malls and clears standard speed bumps and ramps without scraping. Where it runs out of room is a full house: three big cases plus a fourth person's bag is the point at which you should size up to something larger. A quick reminder on the rules, since they fall to you: Salik tolls and any RTA fines during the rental are billed to you, and a child under four needs a child seat, which we can fit.
Rent the Pegas 2025 if you want the newest version of Dubai's cheapest automatic sedan for commuting, errands, and the occasional airport trip, and the no-deposit handover suits how you'd rather pay. For one person, a couple, or a small family on a budget, the low running cost and the easy city manners make it an easy recommendation, and we rent from 18 when many rivals hold out for 21.
Step up if your week leans on highway miles or you simply want a quieter, quicker, more polished car. A Honda City brings noticeably more pace and a better cabin for a bit more money, and a Hyundai Elantra moves you into a roomier, more refined sedan again. The Pegas doesn't try to compete on either front. It's the dependable, low-cost choice, and the 2025 car is just the freshest way to have it.
