Need a cheap automatic sedan that just gets on with the job? We deliver the Kia Pegas 2023 to your door anywhere in Dubai, usually within one to two hours of booking, so you can skip the rental-desk queue entirely. This is the car you rent when the priority is a working week of commuting and errands, not badges or refinement. The Pegas is a small four-door with a 1.4-litre engine and a proper automatic gearbox, sized right for daily city driving and light enough on fuel that you'll forget where the petrol station is. It won't thrill you. That isn't the point. The point is it starts, cools down, and carries you and your stuff without drama or surprise bills.
The Pegas sits in the economy class for a reason. The cabin is plain hard plastics, basic instruments, a small screen on most cars, and seats that are comfortable enough for a 30-minute commute rather than a four-hour drive. There's nothing wrong with any of it, and nothing about it pretends to be more than it is.
What matters more for a rental is that it's easy to live with. Light steering, a tight turning circle, good visibility out of every window. You sit a touch higher than in some rivals, so kerbs and bay markings are easy to judge. For a daily commuter that mostly does the same few routes, that low-effort character is the whole appeal.

Ninety-five horsepower and a 4-speed automatic is modest hardware, and you should know what that means before you book. Around town it's fine. The car pulls away cleanly from lights, keeps up with traffic, and the old-school 4-speed auto is smooth precisely because it isn't trying to be clever. No hunting, no hesitation, just shift and go.
The honesty comes on the highway. On Sheikh Zayed Road or the E11 the Pegas will sit at 120 all day, but ask it to overtake a truck quickly with a full load aboard and you'll feel the engine working hard and the gearbox dropping a cog with a moment's pause. It tops out at 170, which you'll never need. For airport runs to DXB or a short hop to DWC it's perfectly adequate. For long, fast highway driving with four adults, you'll wish for more.
This is where the Pegas earns its keep. A combined 17.8 km/L from a 43-litre tank gives roughly 765 km of range, and a small 1.4 doing mostly city miles is genuinely frugal. In real Dubai use, with the AC running flat out and stop-start traffic, expect a bit less than the official figure, but you're still looking at one fill covering most of a working week for an average commuter.
For anyone watching running costs over a longer rental, that's the headline. You spend less time and money at the pump than almost anything bigger.
Park anything in Dubai at 45°C and the first minute is unpleasant. The Pegas has a small cabin, which works in its favour here. The front vents cool a compact space faster than they would a large saloon, so the cabin gets bearable quickly and properly cold within a few minutes. There are no rear air vents, so back-seat passengers rely on airflow from the front, something to keep in mind if you're regularly carrying people behind you on hot afternoons. For a driver and a front passenger, the AC is more than up to the job.
Small dimensions make this an easy car to place. It slots into tight multi-storey bays, handles Marina ramps and U-turns without fuss, and the modest ground clearance is plenty for speed bumps and mall entrances. You won't be scraping anything on a normal day.
The boot is the pleasant surprise. At 475 litres it's large for the class, with a deep, square load space. Two large suitcases plus a couple of soft bags fit for an airport pickup, which is more than many cars this size manage. For weekly grocery runs and the school drop, it swallows everything you'd throw at it.
The renter covers Salik tolls and any RTA fines, so plan your routes and watch your speed. Seatbelts are mandatory in every seat, front and back. None of this is specific to the Pegas, but it applies to every car you'll drive here, and it's worth saying once. The car comes with 250 km a day included, which covers normal commuting and errands comfortably.
Rent the Pegas if you want a dependable, cheap automatic for daily commuting, errands and the occasional airport run, and you value low fuel use and easy parking over plushness. For one or two people doing city miles all week, it's hard to beat on the basics.
Look elsewhere if you regularly carry four adults on the highway, do long fast motorway stints, or want a quieter, better-finished cabin. A Honda City gives you more pace and polish for not much more car, and an Elantra steps up again on space, refinement and highway muscle. The Pegas doesn't try to compete with either. It does the simple stuff reliably and cheaply, and for a lot of renters that's exactly the car they need.
