The 60-litre tank is what decides your week more than the badge on the boot. City driving with the AC working sits around 8 to 9 litres per 100 km, dropping noticeably on the highway, and a steady motorway run can stretch close to 940 km on a tank. In practice most renters fill up once across a normal week, even with a couple of airport transfers folded in. For a car this size, that's an easy number to live with.

Space for people and luggage

This is where the K5 earns its keep. The 510-litre boot takes two full 23 kg suitcases plus a duffel or two with the seats up, exactly the load that defeats a smaller sedan on an airport run. Fold the rear seats and you've room for four to six large cases. The cabin matches it: two adults up front have space to stretch, and the long wheelbase makes three across the back genuinely workable on a longer drive. The one trade-off is rear headroom, since the roofline slopes for the looks, so very tall passengers in the back will notice it. For most groups it's a non-issue.

Staying cool in the heat
