Kia K5 2023 - start from 165 AED / day

Two hundred fifty kilometres a day come included when you rent the Kia K5 2023 from us in Dubai, which is more daily distance than most midsize sedans at this rate, and enough to cover a full week of school runs, mall trips and airport pickups without watching the odometer. We deliver it to your door in Dubai in one to two hours. This is the roomy, comfortable end of the midsize class: a big back seat, a deep boot and an easy, settled ride. If your week involves four or five people and luggage, this page is about whether the K5 is the sensible family-and-airport pick, and where you'd be better off sizing down or up.

How much room is actually back there

The back seat is the K5's strongest argument. At just over 4.9 metres long it gives rear passengers proper legroom, so two adults behind two adults works for a real trip, not just a short hop. Three across the back is fine for kids and manageable for adults on a 20-minute run to the beach. The rear bench reclines slightly and sits at a comfortable height, which matters when grandparents or in-laws are riding along for the week.

The boot follows through. At around 450 litres it swallows two large suitcases and a couple of cabin bags with room to spare, so a family of four flying into Dubai can load up at arrivals without playing luggage Tetris. Drop the rear seats and a stroller and the weekly shop go in together too. For most renters the K5 carries more than they expect a sedan to.

A comfortable cruiser, not a sports saloon

Be clear on what the K5 is. The GCC car here is the 2.5-litre petrol with an eight-speed automatic driving the front wheels, and it's tuned for comfort rather than corners. Around 194 horsepower is plenty for merging onto Sheikh Zayed Road, holding 120 in the fast lane and overtaking without drama, but it's relaxed in how it delivers that, not eager. The ride soaks up Dubai's expansion joints and road seams well, and the cabin stays quiet at highway speed, which is exactly what you want on a long DXB or DWC airport run.

If you want a sharp, sporty drive, this front-drive 2.5 isn't it, and you'd look at the turbo cars. But for covering distance in calm comfort with a full car, the K5 does the job better than most things its size.

Heat, AC and the Dubai summer

Cabin cooling is the question every Dubai renter should ask, and the K5 handles a parked car in 45-degree heat better than smaller cars do, partly because the AC is sized for a midsize cabin. Expect the front vents to pull the worst of the heat out within a few minutes and the cabin to reach comfortable in well under ten on a typical summer afternoon. The rear vents matter here: passengers in the back get their own airflow, so the whole car cools evenly rather than leaving the back row baking while the front is fine.

Parking, Salik and the rules

A 4.9-metre sedan is longer than a compact, so tight multi-storey bays and a few Marina ramps ask for a bit of care, but the reversing camera and sensors make daily parking straightforward at malls and apartment towers. Ground clearance is 135 mm, which clears standard speed bumps and mall ramps fine; just take the steeper ones slowly.

A couple of operational notes. Salik tolls and any RTA fines during your rental are billed to you, the renter, so a daily Sheikh Zayed Road commute adds up over a week. Seat belts are mandatory in every seat, front and back.

Fuel and how often you'll stop

With a 60-litre tank and real-world economy around 13 km/L in city traffic and 15 on the highway, the K5 gives you roughly 940 km of highway range on a full tank. In practice, a week of mixed Dubai driving means filling up once, maybe twice if you're commuting daily across the city. Petrol is cheap here, so the K5's running cost over a week stays low for a car this size, and you're not the one stopping at every other station.

Who should rent the K5, and who shouldn't

Rent the K5 if you're a family or a group of four to five who want space, a big boot and a calm highway car for a Dubai week, especially with airport runs in the mix. It's the comfortable, value pick that asks nothing of you and carries everyone in proper comfort. If it's just you and one passenger doing short city errands, a compact sedan is easier to park and cheaper to rent, so size down. And if you're heading to Hatta, the dunes or anywhere off sealed road, the K5's low clearance and front-drive layout aren't built for it, so take an SUV instead. For everyone in between, families, airport pickups, longer cruises down the E11, this is the easy answer.
