How it drives on Dubai roads

At just over 4.9 metres long the K5 feels planted in a way short hatchbacks never do. On the E11 it settles into a calm, stable cruise, holds its lane without fidgeting, and has enough in reserve to overtake a slow truck without dropping a gear and praying. The 2.5-litre petrol makes 194 hp through an automatic gearbox driving the front wheels, so merging onto fast traffic from a slip road is a non-event.

Around town it's still easy enough, though you feel the length on a U-turn and in older multi-storey car parks. Marina ramps and mall entrances are fine. The 135 mm of ground clearance is sedan-low, so you take Dubai's taller speed bumps gently rather than at speed, but nothing here scrapes in normal driving.

Fuel, tank and how often you'll stop

The 60-litre tank is the number that decides your week. Drive mostly in city traffic with the AC working and you'll see roughly 8 to 9 litres per 100 km in the real world. Spend more time cruising the highway and that drops, with Kia quoting up to around 13 km/L at a steady motorway pace and a total range close to 940 km on a good run.

For most renters that means filling up once, maybe twice, across a normal week. A couple of trips to DXB or DWC and daily commuting won't leave you hunting for a station mid-journey.

Inside, the K5 is genuinely roomy.
