A Dubai week that runs from a Deira office on weekdays to a Friday drive down toward Al Ain doesn't need a big car, it needs a cheap one with a proper boot. The Kia Forte 2023 rents in Dubai for exactly that: an economy sedan, sold here as the Cerato, that carries almost as much as a mid-size car on small-car fuel money. We hand one over at your door, home, hotel or office, usually within one to two hours of booking. The honest case for it is space and value. You get a near-500-litre boot and a back seat two adults can actually use, without paying SUV rental rates. Here's where that pays off across a Dubai week, and where it doesn't.
Start with what it costs to keep moving, because that's the reason to pick the Forte over a flashier sedan. The 2.0-litre four returns around 14.5 km per litre in the mix of city crawl and highway cruising you'll actually do here, and the tank holds 50 litres. That's roughly 700 km between fills, so a resident on the daily commute stops for fuel about once a week rather than every few days.
Mileage works a little differently on this car. Instead of a fixed daily cap, you get the daily allowance your desk confirms at booking, and anything beyond it is charged at AED 0.5 per extra kilometre. City driving rarely comes near whatever that ceiling turns out to be. A weekend run to Al Ain or Abu Dhabi and back is what tips you over, and the extra kilometres are cheap enough not to change the plan. Two costs sit with you as the renter no matter which car you take: Salik each time your route crosses a toll gate, which stacks up fast if you cross the Sheikh Zayed Road twice a day, and any RTA fines. We rent this one from age 25.

The 502-litre boot is the reason to book this over something smaller. Two large suitcases go in flat with a couple of soft bags packed around them, so a DXB or DWC airport pickup for a pair flying in with a week of clothes is no repack-on-the-kerb affair. Fold the rear seats down and a flat-pack run from the furniture shops fits too.
The back seat backs it up. A long wheelbase gives rear passengers genuine knee room, so two adults sit comfortably behind two more for a drive across town or out to the coast, and three across is fine for a short hop. Load four adults plus everyone's cases for a week and it tightens, which is the line where a mid-size sedan or a crossover earns its extra cost. For two adults and a couple of kids on mall and school runs, the Forte has room to spare.
At 4,640 mm long and 1,800 mm wide it's a compact car to place. A tight tower bay in Business Bay or a Marina ramp U-turn takes one go, not three, and the light parking steering and the reversing camera handle the fiddly part. Ground clearance sits around 150 mm, enough to clear villa-compound speed tables and mall ramps without a scrape, though a steep basement entry taken at an angle still wants a slow crawl. One thing to be plain about: this is a front-wheel-drive road car. Keep it on tarmac. No sand, no soft verges, no dune weekends.
A cabin left in a car park all afternoon is the real summer test, and a sedan this size has an edge over a big SUV because there's less air to chill. The front vents hit hard and clear the worst of the heat in about a minute once you're moving. Rear passengers get their own vents on this generation, which matters when the car is full and the outside reading is deep into the mid-40s. Park in shade where you can, and drop the windows for the first few seconds when you get back in to push the hot air out. It's a plain, effective system rather than a plush climate suite, and at this rental price that's the right trade.
Rent the Kia Forte 2023 if you want a frugal automatic sedan that carries like a bigger car for a Dubai week or month. For the daily commute, the airport run with real luggage and the odd weekend drive, it hands you a near-mid-size boot and a usable back seat for far less than an SUV costs to rent or to feed, and it parks like the compact it is.
Size up in two cases. If your regular load is four adults with a full stack of cases, that back seat goes from generous to snug, so a mid-size sedan or a crossover suits you better. And if any part of your plan touches sand, this front-wheel-drive sedan is the wrong tool, so take a proper 4x4 and leave the Forte on tarmac. For the resident or visitor in the middle, who wants the most car for the least running cost, it's the sensible pick, and we'll have one at your door inside a couple of hours.
