Kia Carnival 2023 - start from 371 AED / day

If a seven-seat SUV keeps leaving someone in the boot, the Kia Carnival 2023 is the rent that fixes it, and we deliver it to your door in Dubai within one to two hours. This is a proper eight-seat people mover dressed up to look like an SUV, and we rent it from 18 when most desks hold out for 21 or 25. Our argument is straightforward: for a big family, a group trip, or anyone moving people and luggage at the same time, the Carnival does what a three-row crossover only pretends to. Where it asks for a second thought is parking and city nip, and we'll be honest about both.

Space, seats, and who actually fits

The Carnival's whole point is room, and it delivers. The cabin runs three rows with genuine seats in all of them, so the third row isn't the token bench you get in a midsize SUV. Adults can sit back there for an airport run without folding into themselves, and the sliding middle row lets you trade legroom between rows two and three depending on who's travelling.

For a family of six or seven this is the easy answer. Two parents, four kids, and the school bags all go in without anyone arguing over the back. Run a group from a Marina apartment to a desert camp and you load seven people plus their bags in one car instead of convoying two. The flat floor and the sliding doors make loading kids and car seats far less of a fight than climbing into a tall SUV.

Boot space and the luggage question

Behind the third row you get 540 litres, which is enough for the daily shop or a few soft bags with all seven seats up. That's the honest limit: full house plus full-size suitcases won't both fit at once. Drop the third row and the space opens up dramatically, easily swallowing a week of luggage for a family of four with room to spare.

The practical move for an airport pickup is simple. If you're collecting five or six people from DXB with a case each, fold one section of the rear seats and you've got both the people and the bags. Seven passengers and seven large cases at the same time is the one trip where even this van gets tight, and we'd tell you to plan the seating before you book.

On the road and at the pump

The 3.5-litre V6 makes 272 hp through an automatic gearbox, and that matters in a car this size. Loaded with seven people it still pulls onto Sheikh Zayed Road without straining, and it holds 120 on the E11 quietly enough that the back rows can talk. This is front-wheel drive, so it's a road and highway machine, not a dune car. For tarmac runs to Hatta or the airport it's well within its comfort zone.

The 60-litre tank paired with a thirsty V6 means you'll fill up more often than in a small SUV, especially running the AC hard in July traffic. Expect a tank to cover several days of normal city and school driving rather than a full week. For a group road trip, budget one fuel stop into the plan and you won't be caught out.

Heat, parking, and the Dubai realities

Cooling a cabin this big at 45 degrees is the real test, and the Carnival handles it better than most. There are rear vents feeding the second and third rows, so the kids in the back aren't left baking while the front stays cool. Give it a few minutes after a sun-soaked parking session and the whole cabin settles, which is exactly what you want with a full load of passengers.

Size is the trade-off. At over five metres long and nearly two wide, the Carnival needs thought in tight multi-storey bays and on the steeper Marina ramps. The 180 mm of clearance clears speed bumps and mall lips without scraping, but U-turns and narrow bays take more room than you're used to. Salik tolls and any RTA fines during the rental are charged to you, and child seats are required for under-fours, which we can fit on request.

Who should rent it

Rent the Carnival 2023 if you're moving six or seven people regularly, running a big family, or hosting a group that would otherwise need two cars. Nothing in its class carries people more comfortably for the money, and the rent-from-18 option makes it reachable for younger drivers organising a trip.

Skip it if it's mostly you and one or two passengers doing city errands. A van this big is wasted on light duty, harder to park, and thirstier than you need. For four people and luggage a midsize SUV is the smarter rent. The Carnival earns its keep when the seats are full, and that's exactly when to book it.
