There is a moment, usually at the first speed bump in the Marina, when passengers stop asking what a Jetour is. The G700 is Jetour's flagship: a big, square, six-seat 4WD that looks like it was drawn with a ruler next to a Defender and a G-Class, and in black with the tan leather interior it reads as far more money than the daily rate suggests. This is the 2026 car in Business trim, and the honest pitch is simple: presence and space at a rate where the German alternatives give you neither.

What six seats actually buys you

The cabin is a 2+2+2 layout, and the middle row is the point. Two captain chairs with their own armrests and air vents, a clear walkway between them to the third row, and screens for the people in the back. Kids go to the third row without anyone folding themselves in half, and two adults can sit behind the driver for an hour without negotiating shoulder room. The tailgate carries the full-size spare, which is the correct look for the shape and frees the boot floor.

Up front you get twin curved displays running the width of the dash, a big centre touchscreen, and tan leather with blue ambient lighting after dark. It photographs like a concept car; day to day, the part you use most is the cooled storage under the armrest and the fact that every row has its own vents, which matters more than any screen from May to September.

How it drives around Dubai

It is tall, softly sprung and entirely unbothered by bad surfaces, which is exactly what you want between speed tables in JVC and the truck ruts on the E311. The 2.0-litre turbo pulls the box along without drama, the automatic shuffles early and quietly, and the 4WD plus proper ground clearance means the sand car park at a desert brunch is a non-event. It is not a car for enthusiastic cornering, and it never pretends to be; at 120 on Sheikh Zayed Road it settles flat and stays quiet enough for the third row to join the conversation.

The paperwork, the tolls, and the fine print

You can rent from 18 here, with at least 12 months on your licence. Bring your driving licence, passport and a credit card; payment on pickup is card or cash, and the deposit is AED 5,000. Fuel is same-to-same: it comes to you with a level, it goes back at that level. Salik tolls are billed to your booking as you pass the gantries, and any RTA fines during the rental are yours. A child seat is the law for under-fours, and we will fit one on request.

Mileage is 300 km a day, 1,500 km a week, 4,500 km a month, then AED 0.5 per extra kilometre. That daily allowance covers a Dubai commute with room to spare; if you are planning a proper road trip loop through the northern emirates, the weekly allowance is the one to book against.

The longer you keep it, the less each day costs

The rate steps down automatically with the length of the booking: 3% off from 3 days, 5% off at a week, 8% past two weeks, 12% past three, and 15% once you cross a month, with further steps beyond that. Nobody needs to ask for a code; the calendar does the discounting.

Who should book it

Take the G700 if you need six real seats, you want the boxy off-roader look without a four-figure daily rate, and your week includes at least one run where comfort in the back matters as much as the badge on the nose. Skip it if you park in tight older basements every day, or if the badge itself is the point of the rental, in which case you already know which German SUV you are here for.
