If you want a seven-seat luxury SUV for a Dubai week without locking up a big deposit, the Infiniti QX60 2020 is one of the cheaper ways in, and we offer it on a no-deposit insurance plan with delivery to your door. This is the first-generation car, so you're trading the latest cabin tech for a lower rate on the same V6 seven-seater shape. Our honest position: rent the 2020 when value and a full second row of luxury seats matter more than having the newest screen. It carries the family, it's quiet on the highway, and it costs less than the redesigned model. The catch is the gearbox, and we'll be straight about that further down.
Start with the fit, because that's what makes or breaks this rental. The QX60 2020 suits a family of five to seven who want genuine luxury-SUV comfort, a Bose sound system and a calm cabin, at a price below the newer car. The leather, the quiet ride and the second-row space all hold up well for a car of this age.
It's less suited to someone chasing the latest tech. The 8-inch screen feels dated next to current Infinitis, and the interior, while plush, is a generation behind. If that bothers you, size up to a newer QX60. If it doesn't, you're getting most of the experience for less.
The QX60 seats seven, and the second row slides and tilts to let people into the back. Two kids are comfortable in the third row for the school run and weekend mall trips. Two adults back there work only for short hops. The middle row is where the car shines: slide it back and adults get proper legroom, or fit three kids across for the daily routine.
For luggage, be realistic. With all three rows in use the boot holds a large case and a couple of soft bags, no more. Fold the third row and you open up room for three or four suitcases. So it's a full family or a full boot at any one time, rarely both. An airport run with everyone and their bags means dropping that back row.

The 295 hp V6 has plenty of grunt, but it drives through a CVT rather than a conventional automatic. In steady traffic and at a cruise you'll barely notice it. The cabin stays quiet and relaxed at 120 on the E11. Ask for a hard overtake or a quick pull onto a busy slip road, though, and the CVT lets the revs climb and hold while the speed catches up, which can feel and sound strained. The manual mode helps you take some control back. It's all-wheel drive, which adds grip on a wet ramp or a sandy edge, but this is a road SUV, not a sand car. For dunes you'd want a proper 4x4.
If a smooth, snappy gearbox is high on your list, this is exactly where the newer QX60 pulls ahead. For relaxed family driving, the CVT is fine.
The 73.8-litre tank gives a useful cushion. Around town the V6 returns roughly 8.6 km/L, climbing on the highway, which puts a tank in the region of 677 km combined and up to 847 km if you're mostly cruising. For a family doing school runs and errands, that's several days between fills, with comfortable margin for an airport trip or two. It's a thirsty V6 by small-crossover standards, but the big tank keeps you off the forecourt.
Pulling a cabin this large down from 45 degrees takes a strong system, and the QX60 has one. The front vents bite quickly and there are rear outlets, so children in the back rows aren't left to cook while the front cools. A couple of minutes after a hot park and it's comfortable throughout.
At over five metres long, it's a lot of car to thread through tight bays and Marina ramps; the 360-degree camera on later builds of this generation helps, but take U-turns and narrow gates slowly. The 165 mm of clearance clears speed bumps and mall entrances without drama. Practical notes: Salik tolls and any RTA fines run to the renter, and a child seat is required for under-fours, which we can fit if you ask.
Rent the QX60 2020 if you want a luxury seven-seat SUV for the family at a lower rate, and you can live with older cabin tech and a CVT instead of a modern automatic. For comfort, second-row space and quiet cruising, it still delivers.
Spend up on the redesigned QX60 if the latest screen and a crisper gearbox matter to you, or if you'll be doing a lot of hard highway overtaking with a full load. And if it's only two of you, skip the third row entirely and take a midsize SUV; you'll save money and park more easily. For a value-minded family week, the 2020 is a lot of luxury seven-seater for the price.
