The honest caveat is the gearbox. It's a CVT, not a conventional automatic, and under hard acceleration it lets the revs flare before the speed catches up. Around town and at a cruise you'll never notice. Floor it to overtake on the E11 and the engine drones a beat ahead of the car. It's a turbocharged petrol four, so stop-start traffic on a hot day pushes consumption up, but it's nowhere near thirsty for a luxury SUV.
